Staunton just used to get on my nerves, one of the things that wound me up was his corners, trying to score seemingly every time. Saw his brother play a trial match for the reserves, I assume it was a favour called in because he was useless.

In summary, don't like Staunton but he's better than his brother.

Staunton was a very good full back for us but certainly I wouldn't class him as a villa great.

Oh well, you're just wrong, but never mind.

I wonder if joe_c has gone to the match today.

If he has, he's got to be our lucky charm.

His record on watching us in Manchester?

0/10

Surely that can't go on?

I saw the 1-1 at Old Trafford, and the 3-1 win against City when Hendrie scored, but other than that I've probably seen a good dozen defeats in Manchester.  Good beer before and after mind.

I'd be tempted to start with

Given - Guzan

Lowton - Vlaar - Clark - Dunne - Baker - McGrath - Lichaj - Bennett

Bannan - Carruthers - KEA - Holman - Westwood - Herd - Delph - N'Zogbia

Weimann - Bent - Gabby - Bowery - Benteke

and I still don't think it'd be enough

What are you thinking of? Play all those players and we'd be kicked out of the competition.  Don't you know Bowery and Westwood are cup tied?

Judging by the weather over there you will need to catch a bloody ferry to the game.
