We'll lose, heavily.  Oh and I'm going as well and have agreed with my mate we will be leaving early if it gets to 3-0 as I won't have had time to administer the usual 7 pints required to get me through the usual appalling performance we put up at this place. sigh....

We'll get mullered. It will rain. I'll be in the City end. Grumpy. Probably 4-1, 5-1 to them

That's enough positivity from me for one evening!

We've never done very well up there since they've moved (one win in 10 years?). I hate Man city.

Did we sell our allocation?
I doubt it. Maybe 2000 Villa will make the trip in a crowd of 31000-33000.

I heard the other day that we'd only sold about 400, although not at all sure if that was correct.  Expect we've sold more since.

It will be a test of Lambert's statement that we'll go out to win every game.

Does anyone know if I'd be able to get a ticket in the away end at this short notice?

I work in Manchester you see so couldn't get a ticket from Villa Park, any advice appreciated  :)

Has Randolph laid on free coaches? Might up the numbers a bit.

Narrow win for the "Citizens".

I hate that place, we don't even lose gracefully up there, its just a twatting every time. Off the top of my head since they moved to whatever that ground is now called i'm sure, apart from that time we did them 0-2, that every other time they've scored atleast 3 times, i'd luv to beat the horrible twats!

A win would be nice but lets face it the best we can hope for is to keep it down to something respectable and no injuries.

From the Birmingham Mail

PAUL Lambert has promised Villa will be “up for it” at Manchester City tonight after pledging to name a strong team capable of progressing in the Capital One Cup.

Stephen Ireland will not play against his former club at the Etihad Stadium after injuring his arm last weekend, while Ashley Westwood and Jordan Bowery are cup-tied.

But Lambert insists the line-up he selects for this evening’s third round tie will be competitive enough to challenge Roberto Mancini’s multi-million pound players.

Lambert will tell his unfancied team they have nothing to lose against the Premier League champions as they try to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat at Southampton.

Mancini is expected to make wholesale changes from Sunday’s 1-1 home draw against Arsenal in order to prioritise their top flight and Champions League campaigns.

“Nobody will expect anything from us, other than ourselves, but you go up there and you go and try and win,” said Lambert.

“I’m not going to change my ideas.

“We’re going to go and try and win against one of the best teams in Europe regardless of what personnel they have out.
