ipswich sung the i r a chant for many years after the pub bombings remember being at portman road a few times when they was hard as nails with the fence between us but no where to be seen outside just thick tractor drivers who didnt realise what they sung

Total scumbags. The only place I've been arrested (1981) when I got spat in the face by a scummy Ipswich fan so beat the crap out of him only to be arrested and spent the day in the cells. Had to go back their to go to court (and had to pay and take my mum on the train being a juvenile) which cost me nearly as much as my 100 pound fine. I hate Ipswich.

Oxford was rubbish , we had a few drinks in town , run into a load JBC going to Leicester  after coming out of the bookies , which ended with 4 of our number getting smacked and robbed , we dropped them of at Solihull Hospital and carried on , the game was shite , the atmosphere rubbish .

not happy punters we left , if i am honest looking for a row and could not even get that .  ended up in Woodstock for grub which was lairy as everyone seemed to have the evils , ended up in a pub, Jim Smiths daughter was working behind the bar , you can imagine .  she was a stunner so she got some light hearted banter as this bedraggled bunch thought they were suddenly in with a chance .

she was great , we got stopbacks and ended up in the gary owen and the khazi noor on the Cov road , after getting thrown out of the swingers club in Balsall common beforehand   oh to be 24 again

That sounds like the script to a British version to those Hangover movies.

Has to be Burden Park in 1994, when we lost 1-0 to Bolton. It was a grim Sunday as I had a horrible hang over from a really poor night out the night before. The wind was howling when we left Birmingham, and got steadily worse as the day progressed. My choice of a rather snazzy looking denim jacket and Villa top looked more and more ridiculous as the temperature dropped at the same rate that the wind increased.

Bumped in to a load of Man Yoo supporting locals on the way who wished us well. Had a definate feeling they would have preferred to give us a good kicking at first, but as they became outnumbered this didn't seem like a viable option for them. The beer was crap and made the hangover worse.

If you have never been to Burnden Park, you probably think the descriptions of the place are an exaggeration, something put forward by tedious old farts such as me to demonstrate that we were hardier souls than the modern day away day Johnny come latelys. You would of course be wrong! It is everything and much worse than you heard. Open ended, cold, no shelter, floodlight stuck I the middle with a sodding supermarket JUST RIGHT THERE!!!. Horrible place. Yes, it had good pies. No, this is no substitute for a roof! Truly the arse end of football. And it was so very windy and cold.

The match was dire as well. we had our chances but didn't take them. A lot of the supporters took the opportunity to slaughter Bosnich in the second half and blame him for the goal. We sung well, but we always do. We lost 1-0 and were taunted by thick locals as our coach drove slowly home.

Burden has now gone and thank fuck for that!

Two years later we took the piss at Burden Park and it made up for that horrible trip in the FA Cup. 'What's your bargain of the week!'

Another FA Cup Quarter Final when we got an away draw. When was the last time we got a home draw in the quarters?

A few of us drove over from Leeds for that game. What a waste of time. It really is a very deep low coming away from bloody Oldham having been stuffed. Don't even think we managed to find a pub that day either. Certainly right up there as a game to forget.

That Oldham game was the only time i have ever left a match before the end.We were so bad i just had to get out .It did me no good though as  my car was blocked in the car park behind the ground and had to wait until the game had ended .Vast difference to the last time i had visited Oldham,we won 6-0 !

Not in terms of the ground or anything but Fulham in 2008 was dire.  It was Hodgson's first game in charge of them, and we were sooo! bad!  Funny thing is we almost got away with it when one of our ex's put through his own net late on, only for us to concede a sloppy goal and let them back into within a minute, and then lost in the last minute to round it off.  The weather was shite too.

Almost as good as when JPA missed two penalties

That is one reason why I am glad those sods are down.  No matter how bad they are we just seem to reserve some of our most dire performances for when we play them.

We got there just at kick off as the traffic was awful and all the way we were talking about how great our skillful players would be on the plastic pitch. Thought it would be a cricket score.

IIRC Bernie Gallagher played and I'm sure he hadn't been in the team for a while up to that point.
