Outstanding.

Took some convincing to get Remy Junior and Remy Junior II to come to the match with me but boy they're glad they did. It's like a clean sweep of the past shite we have been used to. The place was rocking and the Swans took all their allocation.

Holman and Guzan were magnificent, Given is now the backup. Concrete Ron - put it this way the Holte's chant for him was 'ooh ahh Ron de Vlaar'.

Lowton, chests the ball swivels and volleys a sumptuous shot into the net - poetry in motion.

Benteke, big, tall, powerful, held the ball up, shrugs off attention, glided past markers. Weimann put himself about reminded me of Dean Saunders with his non stop movement.

Some really terrific performances from the other players as well. I felt regarding Bent we aren't playing to his strengths or he needs to get up to speed.

Aston Villa - welcome back I've missed you. :'(

Excellent :)

I been to work, then football as I arrived at Villa Park at 2.52pm and is delighted with the view as it is almost half way and in middle of trinty road lower. The game was a joy to watch and the team is completely different Villa I am used to. I love the new striker Benteke as he is very powerful. I think he will be our Dider Drogba eventually :) If Agbonlahor need a role model to follow watch him carefully. Think we will have a very very dangerous front pair in Bent and Benteke (The commentators will have nightmares :) )

I like the new Spanish Midfielder No 9 for Swansea. He impressed me.

I think we need to find a new Ashley Young/James Milner for winger role. As Charles is not suitable.

Really enjoyed the game and thought it was a great win.  Only real negatives were that we gave the ball away in midfield a bit too often and our crossing was not great, but those was far outwighed by the positives today.  Thoughts on the players:

Guzan - very good game and commanded his box really well.  Top class save in the first half.
Lowton - got forward well and looked composed on the ball.  Good goal.
Lichaj - solid performance and kept Dyer quiet.
Vlaar - another good game.  Couple of great runs forward to cap it off.
Clark - really solid performance.  As good as I have seen him at CB.
El Ahmadi - another energetic display.  Got his foot in well and was good in possession.
Bannan - guilty of giving the ball away early on but grew into the game.  Got in some good positions.
Holman - worked very hard, but gave the ball away quite a bit.  Did look to get involved though.
Ireland - not one of his better games and was guilty of losing possession, but put the work in.
Bent - still looks a little way off being fully fit.  Looked better when Benteke came on.
Weimann - worked hard, but didn't have too much effect on the game.

Subs

Westwood - did OK when he came on and kept the ball moving well.
N'Zogbia - looked lively and got involved in his short time on the pitch.
Benteke - if a well known lager did debut substitute appearances ...

Just a quick note - was sitting in the lower North Stand and didn't see Gabby get up once to warm up.  All the other subs did, but he didn't.  Injury?

We're there any tributes or mentions of Hillsborough at the game?

Blimey, well played Villa thoroughly deserved and it was great to see PL on the pitch at the end - he really looked pleased and that it actually meant something to him as well.

Couple of negatives but not for this stream.....

Saints and baggies next, kust what we need  ;D

That was fun. Fun. Fun. Fun.

We didn't just get the result but we looked very good too. Plenty to work on still. Off the ball, fantastic and Holman makes me tired just watching him. But I thought KEA amd Ireland were a bit iffy in possession.

Clark is looking more assured as the games go by. Vlaar is a beast and we should have had more in the second half.

Some good options on the bench. The criticism of Charlie is unfair. He looked lively and linked in well at a time when we weren't committing too many forward.

Benteke looks a real handful. Everything stuck to him and huge doesn't begin to describe him.

Very good stuff.

That was fun. Watched it on Villa Streams with my dad. It's not the best wifi connection in here at the weekend but we managed to get it up and running about 30 seconds before the first goal.

The improvement since Everton is phenomenal, it's going to be a good season.

Oh and I'll praise Ireland as well, didn't quite work creatively but he worked incredibly hard.

FFS he was abysmal.  Gave the ball away in key areas, didn't create a jot and had one limp effort of a shot.  Total waste of space and the one negative in an otherwise very positive day.

Pat Murphy just said it all on Five Live.  Villa Park is rocking again!

Set me up nicely for my trip to Southampton next week, what with them getting an absolute pasting as well!

The problem with the Southampton result is that it is an excuse to have 'arry in by next Sat.
