Bent did a lot of work outside the box and worked his socks off.

Must have been watching a different game ...Bent worked his socks off? I don't think that can ever be said about Bent

I can't remember the last time I came away from Villa Park feeling so good.  Villa playing high tempo passing, attacking football.  All the team working hard for each other. Two good goals. Clean sheet. A manager who knows what he's doing both tactically and in the transfer market. Cracking atmosphere.  Some potential new terrace heroes.  I know we'll have ups and downs but on this evidence Paul Lambert is bringing the feelgood factor back to Villa at last

Great performance in a great match with great atmosphere. Although there were a few mistakes made in the early stages I thought there was not one bad player in the Villa side. The great thing is that you know there is plenty more to come from them as well.

I hope Robbie Savage is on Match of the Day!

Not enjoyed a match like that  for years, there is great potential there. The kids looked like men and we look like a team.
Lambert one hell of a manager turning this around so quickly

Brilliant. 1-11 - everyone played well. That's got to be one of our best performances since before the Carling Cup final?

Aston Villa have had a good win today, but they haven't beaten an Arsenal, a Manchester United or a Chelsea. I'm still not convinced, though I like Paul Lambert as a manager. I tipped them to go down and I stick by that, because of the players that they've got.

Just got in and haven't read the thread so I'm sure I'm repeating, but the last two years can now be truly forgotten.

That was a brilliant win against a good team who played well. We passed them off the park, I had more faith in our defence than I have at any point in the last two years, we have goal threats all over the park, Guzan ruled his box and made some great saves, we chased everything down and worked hard for the team, even Bent put himself about and Bannan resisted the Hollywood pass.

I'm just so happy to leave VP with a big smile on my face. We have our Villa back!

For the first time for ages I really enjoyed today's match. Even if Swansea had snatched an equaliser I would have still been well pleased with our team work rate and tactics.

We can now look forward with real optimism. Obviously we won't win every match but I'd put my last fiver on the fact that even when we lose no one will fault our commitment and work rate. Proud to be a Villain again.

The BBC must surely know that Savage is a clueless, barely articulate idiot. He's there purely to stir up a reaction. He's the pantomime baddie to go alongside Lawro's pantomime dame. If it was actually funny, I'd say the BBC's football coverage is a joke. But it's not.

Robbie Savage fancies himself as rent a quote, he'll say what he needs to say to wind up some dick on 606. Doesn't mean he's not also a prick.

Thing I loved today was that an atmosphere returned to VP and there was a buzz outside the ground as I headed out of the Holte to Aston Park, both things haven't happened in a long time

After a couple of seasons of dross, it was simply a joy to watch.
