How would you have spent £21m?
« on: September 09, 2012, 10:28:32 AM »
This question was asked on another forum.
I haven't seen the like on this site, so I thought I'd put it here too.

Personally, I think the money has been well spent on players who want to be here. Yes, maybe a couple of 'Frees' would have been welcome, but would they be coming for the right reason?

I would of spent it by buying these players

Joe Bennett

Matthew Lowton

Ashley Westwood

Ron Vlaar

Karim EL Ahmadi

Brett Holman

Jordan Bowery

Christian Benteke

So thats is how i would of spent the 21 million pound.

In Lambert we trust! Up the Villa!

I can't think of anyone else I would've brought, but in fairness we haven't even see half of them play yet. I'm pleased with what Lambert's done with the money, and how much of a vast contrast it is to the way in which MON spent his transfer budget, which was ridiculously unsustainable and has had an effect on us of which we are arguably still recovering from.

I would have bought Michael Owen on a free, told Randy he cost a fortune after showing him You Tube Footage from eons ago and trousered the £21 million.

Drugs and prostitutes.

Same here but not all of it.  I'd probably have squandered the rest.

A state of the art meth lab.

Why buy that when you could spend a fraction of the money on a RV?

I'd invest in a small non-league midland club. Maybe even Darlington.
