Unbelievable decision to let Horwill off for stamping. Unbelievable.

I suppose ramming your studs down on someones head is now a legitimate means of regaining balance.

Crazy decision, I can't see any reason for him to have got away with it, it was dangerous and deserved a ban, it's pretty simple.

I genuinely don't see the point of Gatland having taken Wade other than it probably pissed England off to have him called up on match day.  Not even giving him a spot on the bench for today means there's no chance he'll get anywhere near the test squad, so effectively he was called up to play in 1 midweek game, at the expense of getting an important start for England.

Twelvetrees has similarly been called up as cover with no meaningful opportunity to stake a claim in the squad.  It would've been far better for both players to have stayed with England in my opinion.

Some sad news that I should have posted earlier in the week.

Gloucestershire rugby legend Gordon Sargent died overnight on Monday at the age of 63

http://www.gloucestercitizen.co.uk/Rugby-Tributes-Mr-Lydney-Gordon-Sargent/story-19394535-detail/story.html

I've known Sarge and his wife Ann since I was a kid and worked with them on several rugby related projects over the years.

You couldn't find any people more committed to the sport than the Sargents.

This is a real arm wrestle this game, Mako has come back brilliantly after a tough start.

Fair result I think.  I'm not sure whether we were trying to keep it tight or whether we were simply outplayed.
We just didn't have enough of the ball to warrant winning.

The good news is it sets it up nicely for next week.

Should have taken the scrum for the knock on before the Aussies try. The kick to touch was never going to go far from that position.

Aussies were the better team though.

Only understand the game at superficial level but in terms of supporting contest both games have been great. Well done to both sets of players for competing. Looking forward to next one.
