Im watching the match with a Norweigan commentry. I think Holman is putting a 120% effort in. Dont see the point of Bannan (apart from the cross). Still very impressive lads keep it going.

Half time key points for me:

- still really nervous and on another day Newcastle would have scored
- but compared to my expectations, a damn sight better
- tactics working well, particularly the hassling
- still a bit sloppy on the ball at times, and you feel that one of these free kicks is going to hurt us at some point
- Best players for me: Clark, Guzan, Bannan, Lowton and Bent doing a  better target man impression than normal
- Holman working hard but not the best on the ball. El Ahmadi needs to adjust to the pace of English football

- I reckon Gabby or CNZ might be a threat as a sub. But I've thought that previously.
- Would love to have a Delph on the bench to come on and add some steel.

Cheers.

How come Bennett isn't playing? I thought he was legible as he wasn't signed on deadline day.

Not fully fit .

Ah, shame that. Will he be back for the Swansea game?

I fully expect so.

according to the 1/2 time stats, both teams have had 6 shots, Noocastle have only had one on target, whereas Villa hve had 5 out of their 6 shots on target

our goal was our 5th attempt to Newcastles 0 at that point.
The pressing, the playing the ball on the ground is great, will still do well to get anything from this. Great effort so far though.

Nervous but that's the best I've seen from the Villa in a while  c'mon  2 more and our goal difference is zero and that could equate to three draws!!!

Let's hope he works out better than the last injured Middlesbrough player we bought, who is currently second choice left back at Liverpool.

What makes Newcastle such a dangerous side is that they can just send the ball up to Ba and Cisse and it will stick and things will come of it. Hopefully with Benteke to come it may be the same for us
