Gotta feeling this guy can step up to the PL plate. I hope I'm right.

Joe welcome. You have joined a great football club probably the best club. Now play your part in making the current team the best team.

There's no 'probably' about it.

Excellent.  We needed to rebuild our defence...job done, hopefully.  Welcome to VP my son and let's hope it's a long and happy stay.

Supposedly around £2.75m.

If he ever starts getting wound up on the pitch and is in danger of getting a red card can we all shout, in best Ahnuld Schwarzenegger impersonations: "Let off some steam Bennett!"

Hopefully a good signing. Sounds promising and it's another desperately weak area that Lambert's looked to address. So far his signings are doing well enough, so Bennett should follow suit.

Not bad! I'd assumed it was more towards £4 million. We might have genuinely got a bargain on this one.

A few years back I'm sure it would have cost us an extra 2 million and we would have paid it too.

Won't we need back up players?

I don't know much about him but hasn't he got a refreshingly plain, no-nonsense name.
I expect he'll play in black boots and pop in the outdoor for a bottle of brown ale on the way home.

Having been offered him for half the price a year earlier...
