If you have to play the so called uber teams than early is good as they tend to take it a bit more seriously in the later rounds.

Rubbish draw again.  Even before the money we have always struggled up there.

Just saw a link to this vid on twitter Gabby with the perfect hat-trick and Man City had Ched Evans up front, only four years ago it's amazing how things change.

This did nothing but depress me.

Whatever happened to the Agbonlahor in that video?

I think we take it just as seriously in these early rounds.

People need to grow a pair. We don't have TSM in charge. Lambert took Norwich to places like Man U, Arsenal and Tottenham in particular and gave a good account themselves. We're not going there to lie down and take it up the shitter. We're going there to win. If we lose, so be it, but in the cup, and especially this one, we have every chance of winning.

Just hope this time our manager has a go for it instead of saying we got no chance might as well field a weaken side.

At least it will give our young squad more experience of playing against one of the better teams...take the positives from it whether we win or lose.

City are up against the combined weight of 15 European Cups. They've got Bob Hope against any of us.

They might not take it too seriously if it is sandwiched between Premier & Champion League Games. Therefore we will win.

They could put out a second string that will hand our arses to us.  We hardly ever won at City when they were shit, it isn't going to change now, and no amount of the usual 'man up' or 'grow a pair' type phrases is going to change that.

Who mentioned those phases?? Not me, but you do like to make shit up to post for effect at times Risso. I just think that if we play a strong team and go out to play without fear we may stand a chance of winning, as they may be more bothered about other competitions.

The ties are to be played the week commencing the 24th September.  Citeh's fixtures around then are:

23/09 Real Madrid (a)
23/09 Arsenal (h)
??/?? Us
29/09 Fulham (a)
03/10 Borussia Dortmund (h)

So I doubt the chumps leagues is going to have much impact on the team they put out but I'd still expect a 2nd string.

Sothampton just went there with a newly promoted team against Man City's best XI and led 2-1. They gave it a go. What makes you think we'll go there and just take a beating? You really have given up haven't you?

I'm sure everyone in a Villa shirt will try their best, but based on what's been seen so far, I don't see us getting a result.
