We needed that, just for a bit of a confidence boost. I'm really glad that Bent scored as well. Now sign 3 players this week and start moving forward.

Job done, comfortable win by the sounds of it. Good for Bent to get off the mark this season.

Great win to get at this time.

One thing though, attendance 15,319...when was there last an attendance that low for a first class game at Villa Park?...

Well done lads a solid if not spectacular performance.  Listened to the game on AVTV and it sounded very comfortable.  Woodward made Ireland the standout performer.

Lets hope we can take the confidence earned from this display into our forthcoming league programme.  Good for Lambo also to get a first competitive win.

Just back in the car, that was probably the most possesion that we've ever had in a match, we kept the ball well. Ireland did well to create the last two goals and Baker was very dominating at the back, not much else to say really.

Last season has done a lot of damage, it is going to take a long time for that damage to be repaired.
