Paul McKenna has just been sent off for Doncaster. You'd have thought he could have hypnotised the ref.

Banana skin avoided and doesn't sound like we had to work too hard.  Onward and upwards!

I'd let Given keep his place on Sunday. His confidence would be even more shot otherwise. We will need a Given back on form this season. If he's not performing by the end of Septembre, then drop him.

What's the crowd?
15,319.

yikes, really? That's horrendous
Blimey that is low. How much did it cost for a ticket?

£12-£20 I think.
Yes, I've been chiming in all week about the pricing being too high and predicting a 15K crowd but have been getting short shrift fom Mr Woodhall.  He claims that the pricing strategy was all down to Tranmere.  Sorry but surely the negotiators at Villa need to be a little bit stronger.

Not a bad price then. I suppose while most of the West Midlands are in Devon (it seems like that here!) and we have a piss poor start it's going to be low. That is very low though.

And every time you mention it someone points out that the away side has to agree to prices. If Villa wanted lower prices and Tranmere didn't then there is nothing Villa can do about it.

doncaster through with a last minute winner after being 2 down 10 mhutes in. Saunders might do well there, wouldn't mind them away next for obvious reasons': who does everone else want?

We only had 18K for Blackburn in the 3rd round in 2010. It happens, especially in the league cup these days.

What rot the club needs to be firmer when negotiating.  If we follow your argument are you saying that if Tranmere wanted £50 tickets they could have forced this also.  Just out of interest where were the away fans situated tonight and how many of their fans had to pay £20??

It's not my argument, it's the way it works in cup matches. You can argue all you want, it's not going to change the fact that the away team has a say in pricing.
