3 1 to us. We'll go 2 up and theyll score to make it uneasy for us but we'll score a late goal to clinch it

We'll win this, expect someone like Daniel Johnson to have an encouraging night.

I think we'll be lining up with the first full XI. This young / inexperienced team of ours needs to build up confidence so that next weekend they will be raring to go, rather than sitting back for 75 minutes before realising they're in a match.

Lowton-Vlaar-Baker-Lichaj
---------Delph--KEA---------
Holman---------------Ireland
-------Weimann---Bent-----

Good selection, but, I'd go with Carruthers or Johnson instead of Ireland

Doh!
Has to be Johnson then.
This could have been the break through for Gary Gardner too.

I've got a feeling that it's going to be one of those matches where the inferior side (that's Tranmere just so we're clear) come out with all guns blazing and nothing to lose. This will unsettle us (I don't think that will take much) to the point where it will go to penalties. Our inexperienced players will then blow it.

This is my view on the basis that when things are going wrong for a club they really  go wrong.

I agree with all that and I think that's the team I'd pick for newcastle. I wonder if we might red more width in this one however and CNZ is the only option

I'd be thrilled with that, the lad gets himself into some excellent positions.
