It will be interesting to see what he will be like with Westwood and co under Paul Lambert. I am not sure about his potential as I haven't really watched him yet so I have no opinon. Will he be back in next few weeks ?

I have seen him play for the reserves many times and he is head and shoulders above them. Let's hope he makes the step up if he can get full fit again. Carruthers also impressed.

Good to have him back in contention shortly.

I worry about the injuries though reducing the effectiveness of his game. Two cruciates already in his career is horrendous luck.

Must admit when the threads popped up last week of who would stay if we went down, I completely forget about GG as a midfield option.

He was doing very well on loan at Coventry last season so he's certainly one you'd bank on staying and leading the fight back if the worst happens.

Does anyone know how Carruthers has been doing this season for the Reserves or whatever it's called now? I would have thought we'd have farmed him out to a Ch'ship/Leage 1 side by now to gain experience as after Gardner he seemed to be the next most talented of the young'uns.

Pity we haven't had GG, Dunne and Stan all fit this season. Just rotten bad luck!

Percy: sure his size and strength helps him be physically superior to his opponents at youth level but it was less of a factor in the ressies where he was again the stand out player on most occasions I saw. On his game the player he most reminds me of is Bryan Robson, a competitive goal threat.

I should add the caveat that I also said all this about Mark Blake and thought Yorke would struggle to get a game for Walsall.

Maybe just the games I've seen, but he's never stood out for me in the ressies.

I also thought Mark Blake would make it, but I always rated Yorkie.

I'm sure he said the other day that it was the other knee that he did.

Yeah, other knee I think.

I think that's probably better than being the same one, would you agree?

He has done both now. Its better than it being the same knee - if it was the same knee it would suggest a weakness that nobody could ever be sure wouldn't lead to further problems so it is the better of 2 evils.

You don't need it in either knee, but if needs must then both knees is prolly better innit.
