Hopefully this sort of performance can be used to show PL how terrible we was last season and what needs to be done to turn things around.

That is the most positive thing I can think of?

Game over for today. To turn around the team from last season and the one before will take time. The manager needs to be afforded it, and the players need time to prove they can play in the new systems too. We will lose games along the way, but we shouldn't be panicking yet.

Yes we should.  Our players are almost to a man, not up to it.  Alex Ferguson or Mourinho wouldn't get this lot up to midtable.

It's just so obvious though. How can you expect a team made up by players who have fought relegation 2 seasons in a row to get any better? These players have contributed to those struggling seasons, its not just previous managers.

Now 3-0 down. An absolute  shambles. Just no words except SPEND SOME MONEY ON GOOD PLAYERS WE DESPERATELY NEED OTHERWISE WE WILL BE FIGHTING RELEGATION FOR A THIRD SEASON. THIS TEAM IS JUST NOT VERY GOOD. WE NEED IMPROVEMENTS, BIG IMPROVEMENTS.

Relying on the youngsters clearly is not an option, it's sad but they are not good enough. A lot of them have had more than a season in the squad and they haven't come on at all. You can add the odd youngster to a good squad, or bring in youngsters if they're outstanding and we have neither.

Fuck sake.

Ok, I hope Lerner puts his hand deep into his pocket. Embarrassed. We are one of the worst in the league, look at the way Swansea hammered West Ham.

To be honest, I hope he just sells up and fucks off. The useless c***.

I don't think it will make much difference this season now that fucking dumb and dumber have pissed about for the last two months when it comes to sorting the team out. Shocking this early into a season........... Lerner employed McLeish so he had a scapegoat for last season surely he can't get away with it for another season.

Bakers not a left back, Clarkes a weak centreback, Lowton has made the jump up from 2 leagues, El Ahmadi looks lost, Herd offers nothing wide, N'Zogbia hasnt got a head...one of the poorest Villa teams I have ever seen. Randy it all falls at your feet son, what do you really want out of this...too watch us all suffer!!??

Zero our of 10 so far for all of our players.   I really can't be bothered to watch Charles Nzogbia playing for us anymore.  He is a complete waste of skin and Wigan must be pissing themselves we paid £10m for his 'services'.  God awful.

And yet there are people who criticize others for not being positive and optimistic!!!

We are shit and going down and anybody who thinks anything else needs to take the tinted specs off.  This is an awful Villa side, look at the line up ffs!!  A mixture of very average youth players that will never make it and a few over paid, over rated older pros who couldn't give a fuck.  Oh and Nathan (League 1 player at best) Delfouneso.

Rubbish.

Karim El Ahmadi OFF Bannan OFF Ireland ON Weimann ON

How will that work? They've looked like our only two players capable of trapping a football.

As I said earlier, come April, if we are in a relegation dogfight Lerner will be getting the vitriol McLeish took against Bolton at home.

We are a shambles.

Does anybody think we are better off now than we were circa 2005/06?

Six days of window to potentially save our season. It needs to happen now. If we get to jan in the mire, then we can't attract good players, and they'd need to settle immediately to save our bacon. A reasonable start last season essentially saved us from going down. We're starting badly this season. This does not look good.

We need 3-4 decent players. Finished articles. Players who've done the business in this league. Other clubs can see that, so why can't Randy? Makes me sick seeing O Neill basically given the license he had with us 4-5 years ago at a new club and he's going to have a side 15-20 points better off than we are come the end of the season. Makes me sick.

I've had enough for today.
