The bad news is that Albie looks about at his level here.

Villa U21 0-1 Tottenham U21 - GOAL - 31 mins: Spurs have taken the lead in this top-of-the-table clash. Jack Barthram collected Andras Townsend's pass down the left. He crossed into the six-yard box and Ryan Mason was on hand to force it over the line.

good to hear Paul Faulkner talking during the first 30 minutes of the game ... perhaps he'll realise just how naff JW is.

Albrighton really has been rather poor, and Villa are 2-0 down (Scott Parker scoring the second on the 43rd minute).

JW keeps saying that's a good effort by villa - the fact that it is about 4 yards over the bar as the keeper watches it seems irrelevant!

Villa U21 0-3 Tottenham U21 - GOAL - 78 mins: Andros Townsend made yet another dangerous run down the left. Janoi Donacien desperately tried to intercept his cross but could only divert it past Craig Hill. Substitute Souleymane Coulibaly was on hand to make sure it went over the line.

Villa U21 0-3 Tottenham U21 - FT - Defeat for Villa means they miss out on the Elite Group Stage. Gordon Cowans' team will now go into Qualification Group 1 of the Barclays U21 Premier League in the New Year.

The Youth team got beat 4-0 by Peterborough in the 3rd Round of the FA Youth cup tonight.

I'm off to bed.

Fucking hell. Has Lambert got us playing the same system throughout the club?

What system is that?  Because looking at the players on Tuesday night the front 4 especially certainly didn't seem to know what they were supposed to do.

Villa U21 0-1 Middlesbrough U21 - 60 mins: Much better from Villa. Andras Stieber cut in from the left and unleashed a shot which was tipped around the post by Connor Ripley. Boro have brought on Jordan Jones for Curtis Main.
