Article in the Guardian about Next Gen. Seems like Uefa are taking over and fecking it up. It moves from invitational to the participants being the junior teams from "Champions" League qualifiers. Way to entrench the divide, idiots.

I thought uefa were going to start up a rival tournament instead?  So we could win this, but miss out on the chance to defend the trophy next year because our first team are so, er, inconsistent?

I seem to remember a similar thing happened with Sunderland. They won the Reserve League but, as their first team got relegated they were unable to defend their title.
