Please just don't lose. Where I live will be hell at 4.50 today if we lose. Oh and pockets will be a lot lighter too. My town is already teaming with kit stealers shirts and I work in the busiest pub in it.
Might piss off to V after work to avoid the grief...

2-2 with concrete ron to score the first!

So its xmas day and i have the Xmas Lambert-Tree fully assembled. Holman to me was key in this game and now he is deemed fit i feel he is our most likely scorer other than Bent. A "Concrete Ron" corner set piece would work for me also. Bubbles 0 Lamberts Army 1 Get in .......

I don't see this team losing and think there will be around 3 to four goals in this match.  A great counter attacking display...
                        Given
        Lowton Clarke Vlaar Lichaj
              Delph El Ahmadi
           Nzogbia Ireland Holman
                           Bent

Though I do see us conceding I predict a scoreline of 3-1 Villa. Bent will score 2 today(Maybe the welshman Collins gives away a pen)

The managers
I am of the view that Lambert is a more dynamic manager than Big Sam and he cam make the right tactics during the game. The way lambo used subs last season directly compared to big sam use (shocking at home, especially early on in season) gives me every faith we will do the business.

Villa are the better team. Villa have the better manager.

The facts
We  lost to West ham just once in 10 (yes TEN) matches so are we really gonna lose today NO WAY !!? on an opening day with a new manager
West ham have conceded in every pre season match apart from when they beat a german amateur side. They beat colchester but lost or drew all their other games.
We lost 3-1 to forest they lost 3-1 to ipswich.

Last season:
Lamberts Norwich only failed to score in 4 away matches !!
I'm looking at that rather than Villas poor record- due to our previous manager.
West ham lost their first home game last season and pressure is on Big sam and their players.

What i say

West ham have been pretty average in their pre season and we have come to gether nicely. There strentgh is in midfield and they have made some good signings in that department. Don't forget we have made some smart signings to.

That said I look forward to Villa continuing our fine record of taking points from west ham. Lambo will make the right tactical choices against west hams 4-3-3 system, with this we will exploit and counter onto west ham area and score first.
So i believe after taking the lead we can gain control.

let us enjoy! the new era :D

Feels like we're a new team and after enduring last season I wish we were at home first (taking up my new position in the Holte having moved from Upper North).

We'll win. Better team, better manager, better ideas.

2-1

I'm working all day and won't be home until 6. The question is, do I find out the scores when I get home? Or go into Match of the Day not knowing?

Talking of watching it on foreign streams....heard a piece on R5 yesterday saying there's going to be another big crackdown on watching online via illicit streams.  So before I ask 'has anyone got a decent link' tomorrow, does anyone use Villa Streams/is it any good/how much?

Theres no problem watching streams amigo. Plenty around for all games thats the web for you. Scare mongering by the beeb so we tune in to their coverage me thinks...

For any sky and espn matches this season Mypremium.tv

Wiziwig.tv has a list of streamed sports and then you click on link.

And football streaming.info has a list of matches
there is a section for uk and irish matches

West Ham United v Aston Villa FA Barclaycard Premiership can be watched on any of these
15.00
FREEVIEWSPORTS - Browser EN
COOLSPORTZ - Browser
VIP BOX - Browser
222A - Browser
MEDIA4FOOTBALL - Browser
FIRST ROW - Browser

And finally
Veetle streams matches (and you can check out movies)

Cheers Mr P!

I think we should have a poll for where we will be on MOD tonight. Hopefully not last, it should be more entertaining than anything we saw last season.
I'll go for 3rd game....
