West Ham v Aston Villa Pre-Match Thread

And so the season begins.

A precursor to what we can expect this season. A fair few goals, at both ends.

2-2 Bent, Holman

I have already been told that there is no point in me going to the game as they are going to smash us....

I am surrounded by 'appy 'ammers season ticket holders in my village, so a rather grubby hotly disputed 1 nil win(Collins OG) will suffice or a 4 nil tonking(Bent 3, Vlaar)......
just so I can smile when I hear them moaning and bleating down the Plough after the game....

1-1

Darren Bent to get us an early lead, only for Kevin Nolan to equalise late on.

I hate playing newly-promoted clubs in their first home game. Portsmouth, Stoke, fucking Newcastle.

I'll happily take a draw.

I think we'll lose this. As said above, it's a bit of an arse having to play a newly-promoted club, especially at their place. So, I reckon 2-1 to them, and lots of headlines about how West Ham are 'back where they belong' etc etc.

I'll go for a draw, with 2-2 more likely than 0-0.

I hate us playing newly promoted teams. I'd much rather have this fixture around December/January when they have taken a few thumpings.

I have a feeling this will be a pretty high scoring game, not sure on the result though. I'd be more comfortable if we have a new left back by the time it kicks off.

win. We'll pass them off the park and grab a couple of goals from the skipper to start the season off right. West Ham will be fired up but I think with our planning and new found confidence will be the deciding factor. Lambert and his staff will have done their homework as opposed to going in their hoping for the best as TSM would have.
