If McLeish was still in charge his training methods would have been blamed by now.

You are getting your one season managers mixed up, it was Houllier's training methods that caused all the injuries.

We didn't do any training with McLeish.

In that case his lack of training would have been blamed!

SSN reporting that Albrighton has a broken Metatarsal, out for 6-8 weeks.
That's nothing to be sniffed at.

As I posted in the West Ham thread "So we have Gabby, Dunne, Albrighton, Herd and possibly Lowton, Carruthers and Holman injured. We sure pissed off the injury Gods somehow these last couple of years."

You have to figure we'll get a good run of few or no injuries soon.

When was Lowton injured? I don't recall hearing anything about that.

Massive shame. Was a big season for him. Here's hoping he recovers and comes back stronger.

A bench of Guzan, Lichaj, Herd, Bannan, Johnson, Weimann, Delfouneso or similar then for tomorrow, that is painfully weak, albeit Albrighton, Gabby and Dunne to return at some stage, but one ought to work on the likelihood that 3 players will be out at any one time, now we have 4 out our squad should not look as skinny as this.  To be robbed of Petrov, Gardner and Makoun for the season for various reasons must mean we have to bring in at least one more body in this area, at least on loan.  Adam would do.

Real shame for the lad.

The good news is that 1) its not the same leg as last time and 2) its an Anterior Cruciate Ligament and not a Posterior Cruciate Ligament (which would have been more serious). Hopefully the 8-9 month prognosis is worst case scenario and maybe he can be back for the last part of the season.

This is typical of our bad luck and goes back many years.
It usually happens to new signings.

Surely an injury to one of our most promising youth players is worthy of its own thread, rather than being lost in here?  In the same way that individual player transfers are given their own thread rather than being lumped in one big thread?  Just a thought.

Damn and blast. We (and him) really don't need that.
