Villa Timbers v Villa. Nice. C'mon Aston in your Burgundy & Cobalt regulation season uniforms. Hit the pocket from the outfield and dry the spoon with the glove hole. Wow. Go Aston...

A great read, taken from the Portland Timbers website:-

http://www.portlandtimbers.com/news/2012/07/englishman-portland-aston-villa-fan-remembers

Joe's three elder brothers were all mates of mine, and we travelled to Rotterdam together for the Final in 1982.

Didn't manage to stay up for the first two games. As an early riser, this one might just be on so late that its in fact early enough for me to catch the end of the game. Off to bed for now!

Is the match only going to be on AVTV? Or have there been live links for the other 2 matches?

There were links for the Chicago game and possible links for the Timbers game tonight here:

AVTV didn't show them live, it was just a commentary. Couldn't get a stream for the first game but watched the Chicago game via their own website link and it looks like Portand are doing something similar...

Just a shame that Gabriel Al-Agronlaboor is missing tonight.

Go cobalts.

Villa: Guzan, Lowton, Collins, Clark, Warnock, Ireland, El Ahmadi, Bannan, Holman, Weimann, Delfouneso.

Subs: Marshall, Baker, N'Zogbia, Gardner, Carruthers, Johnson, Stevens, Lichaj

Down to the bare bones tonight. Six lads missing. I'm guessing that playing on plastic has been taken into consideration as part of the decision not to risk certain players.

Anyone else sad enough to still be up with the intention of (hopefully) watching the game?

Go Gabby!!
And I love that Guzan starts

And I think that Weimann is going to be our next 20 goals a season man. Andy for 3 tonight
