Just watching the first half of this game on avtv. As with the chicago game, it's a friendly so you shouldn't read too much into it. My views are:

- probably my own fault but a bit underwhelmed given the comments.
- was really looking forward to seeing Ireland, bannan and karim run the game. But the odd moment aside, I'm not really seeing it to the extent I envisaged. Though there were some nice interchanges with holman who looks a sensible player (ie he plays the right ball most of the time) and karim does make himself available very well. Ireland looks the pick of the bunch
- is the commentator a brummie Alan partridge? And I love Ian taylor but can't see
him popping up on sky any time soon!
- but most of all, I was really looking forward to watching bannan play. I'm sorry, I just don't see what people have been raving about. 2-3 good passes apart, I think he's been pretty anonymous. I'd be very surprised if he was playing centre mid against west ham on the basis of this sort of performance. Shame.
- fonz. Nice goal. But part from that, not seeing it I'm afraid.
- Clark looks assured, but we know he can do that all day long in this sort of game

D'oh!

With all of these reports coming in I assumed we were playing someone else right now.  :-[
