I doubt that this is all that different than the Lowton or El Ahmadi transfers actually, just that the lucky break of that photo being taken put it out there earlier.  Had it not been for that, I'd imagine the press would not have got wind of it until much nearer the conclusion, as they did with the last two deals.

Schmoozing potential sponsors etc. I would imagine. Plus being within easy reach of PL makes it a bit easier to formulate plans on signings and that.
