Sturridge has viral meningitis which is not life threatening & more often than not does not require treatment.

Bacterial meningitis is a nasty / rapid illness which is life threatening & can cause brain damage, loss of limbs etc...

Whilst best wishes are fine, but we have to be careful that every sniffle that a footballer contracts is not considered life threatening.
This illness is just that, an illness, that in most cases doesn't have any treatment other than bed rest and paracetamol.

Maybe I'm just a miserable bastard.
