I should imagine peoples Sky football subscription would be going up soon.
When this happens I will cancel the entire package. Que sky probably offering 6months free blah blah blah. They will never let you cancel your package. Just throw your toys out the pram and have a good old strop to get what you want (yes I am aware how spoilt and childish this sounds)

Man Yoo fans should pay more than other fans as their games last 15 minutes longer than anyone elses.

I'm still going to watch games illegally. Fuck you Scudamore and fuck you Murdoch. I'll still with loads of buffering and not being able to see the ball.

Translation:  You're rich and you have something I want, so I'm going to steal from you, but only a bit, and you won't really notice.

Alternatively, I'll go to pretty much all the home games as I have a season ticket, but realistically I can't get to all the away games, and seeing as you won't let me see them legally, I am forced to break the law if I want to watch them live.

Really?  Who's forcing you?

I know. It's worrying for the multi-billion pound multi-national Sky TV that about 400 people watch a Villa away match via the internet, but somehow I think they'll be able to struggle through somehow. Not that they've just paid well over £2bn for television rights.

Oh poor Sky TV. What bastards we are.

God knows tbh. I don't think it's THAT many though. As others have said, Sky/Premier League could perhaps provide a streaming service like the NFL does. For a high quality stream at a reasonable price people would pay it; I would, I'm living abroad next year and it'd be ideal.

I thought you were not allowed by law to show PL games live on TV when it clashes with other PL games. SO Sky do not have the choice to stream all games.

Is it actually against the law? I always just assumed it was in the licensing agreement, and therefore subject to change if it makes those involved enough cash.

They are not allowed to show Saturday 3 PM kick offs by law.

I think that's just an agreement Hawkeye. Something about not wanting to adversely affect attendances. I'm pretty sure if compensated well enough the clubs would agree to it.

Is anyone really surprised?

Always there's the talk that the premier league bubble will burst and every 3 years the tv deal is mind-bogglingly higher than the last time.

Having the vast majority of premier league games is everything to Sky so they'd always come in with the money required to win that bid.

And I'm sure in 3 years time Al Jazerra will probably get the second package so that will be an increased bid.

And this is without discussing the insane amount the prem gets for its overseas rights.

The bubble ain't going to burst anytime soon, just the mismangement that is inflicted upon individual clubs like Pompey.

I thought it was something that the clubs originally petitioned the Government when they first started live league games. if it was just between the TV companies and the PL they would have done it by now. Certain sporting events are covered by this.

Yes, thanks for that EU. More great thinking from the architests of the Euro. Make them sell the rights to different companies, the competition will make it cheaper for the consumer.

Result? The consumer now has to pay twice. Genius.
