Apologies if this the wrong tread for this , or has been mentioned already but Shay Given helped the image of modern footballers a bit by attending the funeral of the young Irish fan who died in Poland

She's very well educated. She stayed on at school til she was at least 24. I saw her in the uniform.

And seems to take great care of her body. I suspect a yoga fanatic

Nice to hear some footballers are human beings after all

Robbie Keane did a little tribute to the Irish fan when scoring for the Galaxy

They're all human beings. Like the rest of society, some are better than others.

I used to study sport and leisure at North East Worcester College in Bromsgrove some 22 years ago and we had the opportunity to take our FA prelim coaching certificate, our tutor told us that he's managed to swindle Dennis Mortimer and Peter Withe's son (Simon I think) to come along and run it. We couldn't believe it, when they arrived and after about an hour he said, I can see you're all pretty decent footballers, if you carry on like this I can't see why I can't pass you all, the course lasted 6 weeks.
Week two arrived and we saw neither of them again, we were mortified and it left a bitter taste. I've forgiven him but at the time he ruined me. On a different note Gary Shaw used to knock about in Bromsgrove and was very approachable.

That's shocking. Dennis Mortimer and Peter Withe have a son?
