The ball is in the onion bag!
« on: June 11, 2012, 08:36:55 PM »
I went in for a signed AV ball for our leukaemia charity (Stan's) on here about 2 months ago.  I won the auction, got it and got the ball.

I collected the ball from Legion and met his compadres - PWS and Redsox.  That was a lovely day outside VP last season and the game wasn't bad, either!

My dad got the ball for his birthday this weekend, just gone.  He was so surprised and so impressed; if only, that he didn't get more lovely pairs of socks.

Dad is 82 this birthday, and an ex-season ticket holder.
We have had a lot of fun this weekend, working out a lot of the signatures.  So far, we have Steve Staunton, Ian Olney, somebody else and Paul McGrath.  We have worked out that this was the last team in the old First Division before Sky and the Premiership re-invented football.

Dad thinks that he will put the ball up for another fundraiser, in the future.  We are still working out signatures.

I'd like to thank H&V for a really magic time with my dad, this weekend.

I have no involvement in this whatsoever, but it's always heart-warming to hear about a Father and son bonding.

It's even better when it's father and daughter. Unless Louzie isn't telling us something!

It's only positive Leeg because the curse hasn't kicked in yet.
