Like the sound of this if true

@JamesNursey: Told yesterday at #AVFC that Bent won't be sold, that Lambo backs himself to get N'Zogbia going and that Makoun coming back for new chance

Let's not start any revisionism, Hutton is an awful player. Maybe not the "worst player ever I've ever seen" which is a phrase I heard, and more than likely used, last season, but he really needs to be the first out. Couldn't defend and poor going forward. It would be great if the new manager can get something out if him considering the money we paid but he's a football manager not a magician. One of the things that typified last season was the constant catastrophic performances of both Hutton and Warnock. Week after week.

Agreed, he's terrible.

My abiding memory of him will be that of him charging around, oblivious to where he might be on the pitch at any one time, enthusiastically putting in hospital challenges.

Glad to hear that about all three players.

What has happened with James Nursey?

I used to think he was a truly terrible journo, rehashing old stories rather than saying anything knew, and pursuing a relentless anti-Lerner agenda.

Of late, he has been bang on the money (as I believe they say) about pretty much everything he's said.

Is he the club's favourite journo or something?

I think it could (notice could, not is) be unfair to judge Hutton based on 1 season in a truely awful Villa side.  I still hope (notice hope, not believe) he could settle down to be a solid yet unspectacular RB.

He does appear to be in the inner sanctum for information at the moment

I'd give everybody a chance bar the two full backs.
Hutton is even worse than De La Cruz and Warnock is a constant accident waiting to happen.

It makes sense if he is.  If there's somebody in the press always giving you pelters, the easiest way to get them onside is to make their job easier by feeding them info.

I agree Mark.  Warnock has been abysmal for two years now, and while you would think that the decent footballer he appeared to be in his first half season is still in there, you can't keep giving people chances when they perform so abysmally week in, week out.  £8m we paid fo him, jesus.  And Hutton is just an awful footballer.  I dont think at his best that he's even competent really.  He's the sort of clogger that might cut it in a team scrapping their way to the play off spots in the Championship, but he doesn't belong in the Premier League.

What happened to Enda Stevens? Is he touring in the States? Is he up for selection by PL, next term?

I don't know why and it's based on nothing, but I just have a feeling Stevens won't make it at Villa. Hope I'm wrong.

Simple, even if we get rid of Dunne, Collins, Warnock and Hutton, for a combined 1million. The amount we save on wages is the key, your looking at nearly 200k a week. 10million a season. Clark and Baker with Lee-high either side of them, Cylne from Palace, that is a very young solid top 10 prem defence which will only improve. Alex Smithies from Huddersfield. A back '5' average age of around 20, that is the defence sorted for 10 years!! - Something I can see Lambert doing. He likes to buy young hungry players. I also think we will see Delph, Herd and Gardner as a Midfield three. If we could then get in Rhodes from Huddersfield, ince and Phillips from Blackpool. It would give us a very good young team with a lot of room to develop, and the key cheap wages.

I know a lot of people will say well its not good enough etc, I have always said, if we have a group of young players, playing there heart out week in week out for a few years and finish 8-12th in a few years they will push on we need to start again. That's the problem we have had this last 3 years, we have a mix of MON, GH and TSM. We need Lambert to start from scratch and in my view it is by getting a core 15 young players and get them playing together for years to come.

Exactly what I've been thinking, I don't know anything about the guy.
On Football Manager he's not that great. He's a right winger.

:D
