Just watched this interview on the BBC:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18338893

He's not exactly gushing with boundless excitement and enthusiasm, is he? Seems to be playing his cards close to his chest and saying pretty much what you'd expect. Still, nothing wrong with that really at this stage.

I think that's just him though.  I heard from Norwich fans not to expect exciting interviews from him.  I'm not massively concerned what he says to us, it's what he says to the players and the effect that has on them that matters.

Just watched the press conference on sky sports. Love the tie,it really suits him. Also get the impression that he is ready to kick some over payed, over rated players arses out of the door. Just what we need, change at last.

I can not remember Sir Ron ever being gushing but he did smile momentarily on the balcony of the Council house when someone handed him the championship trophy.

There were about 80 or so as a sort of 'Welcome to VP' fan greeting as he arrived.
Well done all of you.

Agreed, mostly, I hope Collins, Dunne and Mutton are all starting to get a bit concerned.

Losing Collins would be a mistake, and I don't understand the hatred for Dunne either.

He speaks calmly, confidently and with conviction. Seems a strong character.

He's said more than Ron Saunders ever used to say.

I was one of the 80 or so. Some of us got there before 1230 and we caught a glimpse for about a minute at quarter to 1. Then they screened the press conference on the car park Big TV. We then had to wait outside with only the odd passing press men giving us any idea when he was due out again. It rained hard at least twice. He finally re-emerged at about 330pm.

A lot of people came down for 1pm and waited around and had to leave before seeing him. I was surprised that with the club asking people to come down, there wasn't more of an organised showing. He could have easily popped out after the main conference and before the press 1-2-1 for 10 -15 mins.

Edit: There was chanting of "We've got our Villa back" on the second appearance and he did sign all autographs offered.

I went down too.

Just missed him going in, watched the press conference on the big screen, waited in the pissing rain until 2.30pm, at which point I was getting evils from Mrs and kids, so we went Aston Hall instead.

Glad I didnt stand there for another hour. I was a bit damp.

As already mentioned MON press conference was at 7pm on a normal week day. Went down today and we had the two worst pour downs of the day. Spoke to Jack woodward. He said there was definitely money to spend and players already identified by Lambert. ( which was said in conference) Collymore shot straight off when the rain came down and just waved bye !! Lambert seems very much his own man and love his comment. "Body moor training ground is fantastic". "But you can have the best training ground in the world but if you are not producing on a Saturday it means nothing" Positive .......
