Just saw some "highlights" on SSN...what stood out was that they have identified and discussed transfer targets, PF acknowledged they need to support PL in order to perform and get better results than last season, and also that there may be more players moving on in the summer.

I feel more confident that they we will be competing in the top half of the table next season, and anything less is not acceptable.

There were about 80 or so as a sort of 'Welcome to VP' fan greeting as he arrived.

Wish he would smile and speak up a bit! No need to be so dour!

Nothing wrong with that. Villa  manager needs attitude man.

Yes, but I never like a mumbler. My mum would tell him to sit up straight, hold his knife and fork the right way, and project his voice. All without the ketchup bottle on the table!

Why are British table manners so good when the food is largely shit?

EDIT: Realised, its the British way of 'making the best of things'.

that all? Were things really worse post O'Leary to herald the arrival of MON? This year was as low as I can recall in many a year. It's a little disappointing that 500 or so numpty's can make it down there to protest McLeish but only 80 or so can go down to celebrate the removal of the same man and welcome in the new bloke.

ps. fair play to those people who made it down there

why is that plenty Damon? 80 is crap when like I said so many more found time to protest TSM's arrival. I absolutely appreciate that people have jobs to go back to etc, but seemingly people found the time and energy to protest. I suppose it's not a big deal and hopefully people start buying tickets etc, but we didn't do ourselves any favours last summer with events that made it on to TV. Today would have been a good opportunity to set some of that right.

500 or so? Really?

wasn't that the number that was being thrown about that came down for the protest? I know that it was suggested as being thousands which it was never  close to. From some of the pictures it looked about 400-500 that went down and made arses of themselves on TV.

People probably didn't even know it was happening. Nothing on the website, no text etcs. Not a major issue though.

Glad he's here and that he is here early to get cracking with the re-build.

Sorry, I'm talking with my TV reporter's hat on. 80 is enough to get a shot that says `fans turned out to welcome him'. From a practical point of view that's all i care about.

There's nothing worse than scraping up half-a-dozen passers-by for a voxpop and realising that they're only there by accident, and don't care.

I prefer a fuss when the manager achieves something, not when he is appointed. You can end up looking like Newcastle, all piss and wind about what might happen rather than what does.
