Faulkner looked suspiciously like he was wearing eye liner, the massive girl.

were you staring into his eyes Paulie?

Didn't see it - for those that did, was any reference made to the youth set up/bringing the young players through and augmenting that with quality purchases from other clubs?

Both Faulkner and Lambert gave the impression there will be outgoings as well as people coming in. I would imagine we have, even with the FFP restrictions, a fairly large wage budget, but it is about utilising that effectively.

I thought it was clear that he wanted Holt too.

Holt would be disappointing, but so be it.

He said what he needed to say, and looks like he means business. He gives off the aura of someone who doesn't get messed with very often. I like that. He seems tough and menacing without needing to raise his voice.

I bet he can't wait for August. I'm quite looking forward to it too :-)

He might have been on the way back from some early morning Goth convention somewhere and got held up. And you know when you're in a rush to a press conference to unveil a new manager....you make mistakes....you miss the eyeliner...and all his other gear is in the boot of the car.

Re: Holt. I got the opposite impression. He made references to knowing which players he wanted to bring in but when questioned about Holt, he just joked about how bad his spelling was and that he hadn't given him much thought.

"There is a lot of expectancy at the club and it is not something I'm going to shy away from," he said. "It something I will thrive on, hopefully."

"We will try to get results as quickly and as best as we can. We have to play football the right way.

"We have to give them (the fans) something. We will need them - I think they will come in their thousands to watch us and it is up to us to give them something back."

"I have to get into it and see what is going to happen. I'm honoured to be manager of the football club. I will give it everything I've got to be successful.

"I can't wait to get going, truth be told, so I'm excited by it. It is a huge, huge club and it is something I will need to embrace more than anybody."

He didn't say much at all to be honest, it was pretty short (ten mins?), and then they went to do face-to-face stuff with the written press.

I'd hope he was planning to look abroad for players, I really hope so.

Before he left Norwich he'd targeted several foreign players but Norwich didn't have the money for them.

The way he spoke, I got the impression he already knew who he wanted, preferring to bring them in now, get all the squad working together from Day 1, have a good look at everybody and only then look to see who can go.
