looking forward to going to games with an expectation of players making an effort , earning their corn, having a go. mid table would be acceptable, please dispense with Hutton, Warnock, Collins and Dunne, sorry to say but I would also let Bannan go , he has all the makings of the next Lee Hendrie. . I would not be upset to see Chris Eagles come to us.
We have to be realistic, but just going to game with an idea that we have a chance to win with some decent attacking football, instead of the crap we have been served up  , Just to give me value for money for my Season ticket will make me smile!

Top ten finish, really hard working, tough to beat.  Defend properly from corners.  Get rid of Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Delfouneso, Bannan and possibly Gabby then blow the lot.  Make it exciting to turn up to Villa Park again.

I disagree with a few comments that our squad is good enough as it is...there are far too many players not upto the standard particularly in defense and midfield. A few good signings to strengthen in these positions and we should be back in the top 10, then pushing for Europe the following season.

The squad is nowhere near good enough.

Let's be entirely honest about it, Lambert is a good manager, but without money, we are still fucked.

Very true, but the problem starts from the back. It's no good signing all the attackers you want if you have defenders as panicky and as inept on the ball as ours are. They have to be replaced as the first order of business.

I agree entirely.

Warnock Hutton, Collins and Dunne are all not good enough.

That's a lot of work to replace them there.

If Clark can make it as a centre back - and I think he can, but we'll have to see - then that's one of the positions solved, because his passing is obviously pretty good. The others are a huge area to improve upon, though, and maybe Clark won't play at his best at centre back, which would obviously make the situation even tougher.

I agree 100%.

The question is will Lambert give these players a chance or identify the problems and be able to replace these liabilities whilst also having the budget to bring in some quality in midfield? Can our defensive donkeys be transformed with good coaching and motivation?

Lambert doesnt strike me as a manager who will accept players underforming or just generally being shite, but I dont think he'll be able to make wholesale changes in the squad straight away. If he can make 4 signings (2 in defense and 2 in midfield) then that should make us more solid at the back, provide protection in midfield and make us more creative going forward.

Give me £520's worth of entertaining and quality football at Villa Park this season. If I was only interested in the result I'd sit at home and watch on ceefax.

Yep

Win games or play nice football. Both if we're lucky.

Top 4 finish or Lambert OUT!

More seriously I would like us to play attractive football and score some goals. As for the table, keeping us up comfortably is just fine for his first season.

We need to find some midfielders and defenders with some pace. We are without doubt the slowest team out there and always are found wanting when other teams break on us. It doesn't help that some of those same players are also technically inept.
