I am so sorry.
I imagine there is no pain more far-reaching and deeper than losing a child. My heart and prayers go out to you and yours at this most difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Children should not go before their parents, as someone who recently lost a Nephew at 21 who also passed suddenly, he had the adult equivalent of cot death, the happy times you have to remember do help at time, but the pain never goes away.
Best wishes to you and all of your family at this sad time.

RIP Owen, I have 2 great sons who are now 21 and 15 years but I have photo's similar to the one you have posted Dave so I have a lump in my throat.
If I could find the words to bring you some comfort I would but I doubt they exist so all I can say to you and yours is that you are amongst friends on here who genuinely care, God bless.

Dave, my thoughts are with you at this very sad time.
You have been very brave sharing this information with your fellow Villa fans.
The comments and expressions of sincere condolences passed onto you and your family shows that you have lots of support.
I hope reading these messages will help you cope with the grieving process
I am lucky in the sense that I have faith, and that faith helps me cope in times like this.
I am sure that Owen will be alongside you at every stage of your life, and most importantly you will have him in your heart forever.
Rest in peace Owen - God bless you

Dave like so many others on here I cannot find the words to say how sad your post made me so I fail to understand the grief you and your family must feel.
From a father of a boy the same age as yours my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
God bless little man

I brought my boy up as a single parent from when he was four. He lost his Mum to cancer. He is now twenty. Great memories and now he is my best friend. We did it all.
The very thought of anything happening to him... I dunno.
I can only hope you get through this. Hope you can know that he shared a great life with you and hope you find some solace in Faith ( I am not religious) or other belief that helps. I am sure he is still sharing and watching.
No words. Sorry Dave. Keep strong mate. Thanks for bravely sharing this, it helps us all I am sure, to put everything into perspective.
