The date pretty well rules out a prestigious home friendly for us on what is still the only remaining free weekend of the pre-season.

We're at Wolves the previous day.

I remember City playing us in the Charity Shield at Villa Park in 72 - when the 3rd Division champions were invited to take on the 4th placed team from Div One (that was the year only one point seperated the top four and Derby won it when Leeds blew it against Wolves).
