What that conversation said between the two we will never know, but Villa have done nothing at all since by the looks of it, and he has not had to face a media frenzy.

I too am intrigued by the pervading silence.   All the signs were that OGS was bounced into his rejection of us.   I do not expect it, but I would not be surprised either if he was feeling very real pangs of regret for throwing away a chance the like of which may not happen again.   We would have been the perfect club for him to launch himself in the Premiership and he must know it.

He will not be whistling Edith Piaf's signature tune in the foreseeable future.

Managers change their mind, it does happen.

GH was mentioned earlier, and there was a suggestion at the time that he initially turned the Villa job down.  Until he was persuaded with the offer of more money- and a large chunk of it paid up front.

And we know all about BFR and his 'I'd be mad to leave Sheffield Wednesday' about turn in 1991.

Personally, I think this one is dead, but until their season gets underway again (or we appoint someone in the meantime) I can see why others might disagree.

Rokke discovered, mentored and sponsored OGS to his recruitment by MU, according to what I was reading on their fans' site, the other night.

The relationship seems to be more, 'favourite son' than 'current Molde manager'.

Maybe more difficult for OGS to resist or break away than was first thought.  Not impossible, though.

what have any official at AVFC actually said though ?
appart from the initial statement have they actually said anything more, i'm thinking of the Press fella who confirmed OGS's pullout, but i cant think of anything else
so we are left with Kendrick's and Abrams tweets who differ from day to day, so they might be closer than us, but i would sugest not quite in the loop.

so to say things have gone quiet, is just saying twitteres, rumourmongers, bulshitters, fan forums, journo's who dont really know much have gone quiet,

the club have never been exactly noisy,  Dave Whelan they are not

Which isn't a bad thing, even though it frustrates the shit out of us at the same time!

I've never known a manager hunt where there was so little to go on. In 11 days all we've had is one lot of talks and a candidate turning down the job when he apparently hadn't been offered it anyway. The club are playing their cards very close to their chest but you can only get away with tapping your finger on your nose and winking for so long.

By now you guess they would have sounded out the A list of candidates, maybe they are starting on the B list.  ::)

Well AVB's agent is quoted as saying he's looking for a project.

If Randy's is prepared to back him financially you'd have thought we could sell him the notion that we'd be the ideal Club for him.

On the other hand, Lpool have had at least 3 people turn them down and another 5 not entertaining it, according to the press.

There's an advantage in not advertising who we might be going after.

Still think that Randy's plane was picking up his regular order of lutefisk and Ole just wandered on board...

This is what it feels like. I'm sure there's lots going on in the background but it sure seems like absolutely no progress has been made and the longer it goes on the more worried people will get!

He will not be whistling Edith Piaf's signature tune in the foreseeable future.

He will be standing there, hands in his pockets, with before him the glorious vista of mountains and fjords.

Unfortunately, it will be across a plastic pitch, through a crowd of 2500, and between the terraces, in Tromso. And he will be thinking of what might have been.

Still beats Wigan on a Tuesdayday night in February.

Yeah I agree it's been quite atypical with the normal media circus.

I can't see him going back on his word after holding a press conference like he did the other day but it has gone unusually quiet.
