I know all this is coming from a Brian Doogan quote to a Norwegian media source. Would the main AVFC site not have updated us at this stage to concur with what Doogan said last night. This is straw clutching I know.....

Why should the AVFC site update us on anything other than notification of a press conference (meaning an imminent appointment) or the appointment itself?
We have done 200 pages of speculation here and its been frustrating, funny, and fun in equal measure.

Randy Lerner and Villa officials will come in for flak for how this appears to be conducted and some will say it wouldnt have been like with Doug Ellis.
The fact that we can click away to try and pick up little snippets of real or imagined information shows how much things have changed since Dougs day. I mean we were virtually tracking by the minute the manager of a Norwegian league side getting on an internal flight and arriving for dinner just outside Oslo with his existing employer!

I am sure many past searches for a manager ( at all clubs) have had just as many up and downs. It was just that we would only hear about part of it through the TV and newspapers the next day. Then when it was sorted we were pretty much all left with our own thoughts at home or until we could talk about it with your mates in the pub.

Exactly well said mate. Villa have said he was a number of targets we are looking at. OGS said he'd take it if offered. Then he said he wanted to and withdrew from the running. Villa have said it wasnt offered to him. HE didnt REJECT us, we DIDNT reject him. No blame should be put on Lerner and Faulkner for this. Just been blown up by media and social network outlets. If anything they should be applauded for their vision and thinking on the new manager search.

Yep, well said

They should, but that vision needs to be carried forward to another target. I have very little knowledge of football outside of the UK though, so only know managers from seeing teams in different conversations, so for example the guy at Braga I remember having a decent football team when he was there.

Maybe there are other people doing just as well in other countries as Ole.

Greg, I'm sorry I told you to fuck off. What I really meant to say is that you really ought to get off your arse and support the Villa, rather than taking a perverse pleasure in everything that goes wrong. I'd be able to tolerate your gloating at the latest setback if you had the courage to name a candidate who meets with your approval. It would not be so infuriating if you ever attended a match, or applauded the club for anything.

So I'm sorry I told you to fuck off. I hope you understand why I felt the need to tell you to fuck off, but it was wrong of me to use the words 'fuck off' to you.

Well done Damon. Top man.

Don't matter. He's not coming. he was probably shit anyway. Move on.

What Damon said.

Is there any joy in your life at all?

I didnt want him adam so plenty currently, but if i had, i wouldn't have worked myself up into hysteria based on nothing and then got so disappointed i spent the time afterwards getting mardy with people like you and Damon. The club told you they were looking at more than one candidate, so did pelty.  Its your own fault you're upset.

I'm not upset at all.  To me, OGS sounded interesting but was never anything other than an inexperienced young coach who's done well for himself in a shit league.  I'm not going to go all moist over that.

But the point of my post was to understand if you are always so mindbendingly miserable about everything?  If your post count was really that high before it got reset it's probably only because no one can bear talk to you in real life.  I'd have more fun listening to Smiths song on repeat.

how is being pleased we didn't get OGS miserable? Only from yours and Damon's point of view which is everyone should agree with you that OGS is brilliant or they get personally abused on here. Well sorry but judging from the poll there's a good 100 other people on here who weren't that bothered either. As for the post count another example of the pettyness on here.  water off a ducks back..

While we're changing names, may I have the -AV removed from my username?

The username JJ has already been taken.

well, if you want to see people who were miserable about everything the club did in the last 2 years, you can't find better examples than the GH/AM out lot.. So i suggest you ask them the same question Adam.

Yes I think he's really important whoever else they're in for, is as exciting to the support as Ole was.
