OGS is 28/1 on Sky bet, but they wont let you bet on it as its suspended, only on him though

EDIT,  its 33/1 now, and you can bet on it, just has a £10,
 well you never know !

I just hope they don't panic like they did last year after the Martinez thing.

Well until this is properly confirmed there's always the chance somethings been lost in translation... but that appears doubtful.

Trying to put a positive spin on things, how about we take Lambert on a three year deal and see how that goes. If hes successful we're happy. If he's not, we go back for Ole (assuming he has continued to progress in the right way) safe in the knowledge he's gained a few more years experience.

Lets not kid ourselves. OGS strung us along. If there's another 'lost in translation' style about turn I won't be too impressed. How much incompetence would it actually take for the media to have (again) translated a 'yes' as 'no'?

Ive just finished watching The History of Aston Villa and was feeling rather elated. Then I switch on to Sky Sports and see this news. I have made it clear I wanted Lambert all along. But if he isnt interested then who the hell do we get.

I think there is a lot going on and Randy/Faulkner could be shown in a poor light...again.

He doesn't want to come, so fuck him. I had a marginal preference for Lambert so hopefully we will go for him now.

Can I make a long-awaited return to being TheSandman s'il vous plait? I'll sit in wait to see who we actually get this time. :(

Very disappointing if true especially as he waited till after Jose had signed his new contract.  :(

If not OGS, then Lambert for me. No thanks to RDM.

Due to his family? Bollox. Over the last 3/4 days he has been saying if they make an offer I will take the job!

Or maybe his family thought it over for a few days and decided not to move? I'm sure most wouldn't make a snap a decision of moving to another country. Especially as I believe he has 3 kids?

Seems like the sort of thing Doug would do. Act as though we're doing our utmost before it fizzles out, watch out for a totally underwhelming managerial appointment by Lerner.

Get any old German / Portuguese / Spanish bloke in. None of the English merry-go-rounders for the love of god.

Pelty said at the time don't get too focused on one candidate or you may get disappointed. Wise words.... My source reckoned they just sounded him out at first but then got panicked by the reaction when the news leaked so went for him. Not a clever way to go about choosing a manager imo

Oh my.

Seems Røkke is quite the persuasive fella.
Also, quite astute by all accounts - any chance he could by the Villa

Same bloke who franchised out Wimbledon? No thanks.

Sad time again for us Villains. A managerial nobody turns us down. I really do hope Randy and co have a plan otherwise it's going to just like the last two manager chases embarrassing.
I didn't want him but still gutted that he has turned us down.
You didn't want him, but you're still gutted he has turned us down?
Great logic there.
Yes gutted from a club point of view that a nothing of a manager turns us down. It's a matter of pride and he has hurt me.

I'm a tad sceptical of that too. He's only just discussed it with his folks?
