The problem I would have with this appointment is that due to the ineptitude of RAL and PF, I do not believe that OGS's selection was of their own judgement. I again smell the outside influence of Fergie and I feel that we are just being used to see if OGS is good enough to manage in the Premiership and if he proves successful then he will move to Man Ure, if not successful then no loss to Man Ure! Are we just becoming a feeder club for Man Ure?

Personally I don't have a problem with OGS but I sincerely hope that, if it is done then it is done for the right reasons and not for the personal satisfaction of Fergie!

Apparently the recommendation of soljkjaer was from jurgen klinsmann who is a friend of Randy Lerner. There hasn't been a mention of sir Alex getting involved this time around as far as we know. But then again, what do we know?

I'm relying solely on eastie's control centre for all my updates today. It's the only reliable news source out there.

Ian Richardson on FiveLive on Sunday was saying there are specialist managerial headhunters out there who basically put Villa onto OGS. It's too left field and too imaginative for the board judging by their past record.

Personally I don't have a problem with OGS but I sincerely hope that, if it is done then it is done for the right reasons and not for the personal satisfaction of Fergie!

Not many respected news outlets would have the courage to break news on a done deal, then mend the very same news with a brazen u-turn. Brave, hard, ruthless news.

I see it panning like this:
Lambert to Villa
Soulstar to Norwich
Martinez to Liverpool
Hughton to West Brom
McLeish back at Small Heath.

I disagree with pretty much all of that. Soulstar...really?

Why dont we let Simon Cowell sort it out?

or Prince William?

In fairness it's only a week since we got rid of the last manager.

Villa are understood to have a four-strong short-list to succeed Alex McLeish, who was sacked after the club only narrowly avoided relegation. It is headed by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, the coach of Norwegian club Molde, Norwich City’s Paul Lambert, Wigan Athletic’s Roberto Martinez and Villa reserve team coach Kevin MacDonald, who was interviewed last week.

source
So after being in the interview process twice now, how will KMac respond to once again not becoming the Manager?
And how will Sid (and KMac, if he stays) fit in to the OGS coaching team, given that Dempsey and Martis will presumably be coming with the BFA?

I'd hope that Sid would fit the new team perfectly - you look at the best teams and they train everybody from the under 5s to the first team in the same style. This could be the first time ever that we've had a pass-and-move ethos from top to bottom.

Symptom of the MTV generation. I want it here and now and I'll cry if it doesn't happen.

It's still May FFS
