I've turned down several Premier League clubs this week - Solskjær

The Molde coach led his team this Sunday to a comfortable 2-0 win over Sandnes Ulf, but he has been in the media recently, mainly because of his visit to the Premier League club Aston Villa.

"I felt I owed myself to visit them. I have said no to several Premier League clubs this week. Finally, there comes a point where you want to talk to them, get acquainted and see what happens", a smiling Solskjær told NRK.

Solskjær says he was flattered by the Villa inquiry, but doesn't mention the other clubs by name.

Start the guessing!  West Brom, Blackburn?

I think that "this week" is a mistranslation.

I read something from a Norwegian journo said he'd had offers in the past from Blackburn, Wolves and someone else I can't remember, but in the case of all of them, "it was never going to happen"

He's saving himself and his quotes/coaching ability for the Villa.

I've always liked him.

By that token, any manager we appoint will have been appointed by the same men who appointed McLeish. So we might as well give up now, eh?

Actually, it is not a mistranslation. If it is an error it's from the original journo, though NRK use to be pretty trustworthy. What is more, he allegedly underlines that "in fact, there were clubs placed higher up the table than AV".

I must admit, I really want to bag him as fast as fcuk!

I hope Racist FC don't try and gazump us (although the links with ManU may be too much for them).

The Throstles were higher up the table than us, and maybe the Wigan chairman, Alexander Armstrong,  has sounded people out in anticipation of Rinus Michels leaving.

Well you have to admit they haven't shown much judgement so far when it comes to appointments.

By that same token, they have picked out a manager who has a very convienient clause in his contract, and has a proven record with youth.

Can't have been luck, surely?

just proves they want some on the cheap and managing ManU's youth set-up where they spend millions more than us and have the pick of the best youngsters is hardly doing it from the bottom is it. Cowans and McDonald are far far ahead of OGS in that respect.

I doubt they do that much more N'æsher, I think we plough a fair amount into our youth set up. Plus McAndrew and Jones should be getting as much credit for the youth surely, as McDonald gets them at reserve level? Anyhow, I think the reason people are buying into the "vision" or "philosophy" is because we have, apart from 8 months that were poorly executed under Houllier due to wanting to take a sledgehammer to it all, appeared to lack a direction of travel. Give us that, we have hope it will be better at the other end.

greg is like one of those whistling kettles of yore. When the positivity builds to a certain level he starts making as much noise as he can to warn everybody.
This next cuppa is to you greg. You perform a thankless task and I'll not thank you either.
