Er......Why didnt we go for Stale Solbakken then?.
That is another fresh approach that would have gone stale very quickly.

Is anyone else thinking of new username variations for IF he signs on with us.

I think it's time for a change from "John M'Zog"!
easy one for me I will just drop the Z

John 'Gunnar' M is the best I can think of right now!

Its brilliant what a you-tube video can do. If i was Mcliesh i'd be working on one now so everyone can see his "vision" about football. Shoe in for the Molde job if he does.

Having fun burning your straw men there, Greg?

Just don't understand the logic especially those that want to go shit or bust on an unproven manager who bought the equavilent of the Div2 League especially given how bad we are and how little we'll have to spend. We also seem to have acquired a large amount of experts on norwegian football in the last week who know exactly what he's about and are convinced his vision is right for us. I realise i'm in the minority but then thats hardly a rare occurance. Just sounds like more v like hope than any basis in fact.

Lets face it Greg, any new manager we all HOPE will do a good job. In the case of OGS I believe that he has the potential to do a fantastic job, and the very fact the board have even considered him gives us all much hope and optimism for the future.

No one knows if he will do a good job, but most of us are more than willing to back him, and the potential new direction he will take us.

I haven't read through all 114 pages of this thread so I dont know if its already been mentioned.
Things have been going on so fast that I have only just realised. Bjørn Rune Gjelsten is the same guy who was involved in moving Wimbledon to Milton Keynes.
I am sure we will get our man but no doubt it will get a bit messy ( it already has) as we are basically dealing with wankers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bj%C3%B8rn_Rune_Gjelsten

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kjell_Inge_R%C3%B8kke

To be fair: Bjørn Rune Gjelsten was interviewed in studio tonight on Norwegian TV2, and he came across as very decent.

He made heroic efforts in trying to mend the wounds created and try to make everyone look a little better ("Røkke was not raging, angry ord vindictive, he is simply very sad due to the recent developments") and he finally showed proper graciousness towards OGS, pointing out that the group of leaders were taken by surprise and that of course they wanted what was best for OGS as well. Also, he admitted that the release clause does indeed exist (in case someone were still doubting).

Too many amateurish and outright stupid things have been said and done by the leaders of Molde lately, but this performance finally gave the impression of some humility and sense among them.

Thanks for your regular translations and updates Gompedyret, keep em coming!

Thinking of Louziae0; with an intervention to compact the a and e, of course.
Will probably need a mod's powers to shift it, like last time!

Just hoping, at the moment.

You have all the options though. Paulielambert, Paulierodgers, you can basically do what you want.

(That one is pretty good though.)

And just to add my two pennies worth to this Greg, I know the Norwegian league on a like for like basis is not up there with the premiership, but that's an unfair comparison as it should be relative, in which case OGS has managed a team that has never won the Norwegian premiership to their first title, no small task...

I wanted Lambert. i'll gladly admit it. I also was lukewarm on Solskjær when it was first suggested. Now that I've given it some proper thought, watched some stuff, read some stuff I've reconsidered my position. Lambert would be a good option too, as would Rodgers, even Martinez. But Solskjær offers something incredibly unique and dynamic and we really, really need that.

Pretty much exactly where I am!

But we're not fickle

Spot on Greg.

This certainly doesn't "feel right" to me at all, I must say.  OGS has zero of experience of handling the pressures of a club that is in crisis or with its back to the wall (I'm not saying we are in crisis, by the way).  I would love to see how he manages in those situations, proving his all round capabilities before coming to us.  Martinez and Lambert feel far more right to me - both would do very good jobs at Villa Park.  I reckon Martinez, in particular, could produce a fine footballing side.  He has contacts galore and an eye for a bargain as well.  He ticks every box for me.

I'll back him if he comes but i'm not going down the daft blind faith route again. The last guy who had that sort of belief from the fans walked out and nearly bankrupted the club.
