£30m for OGS is being mentioned on Twitter by @jpkvilla.

Is he still playing? Seems a lot Dave.... :)
Whisper it 'war chest.'

He could probably bring his team with him for that, which might not be a bad shout.

If he doesn't get or take the Villa job, it sounds like he won't be at Molde for very long. I can't believe the way their board have behaved.

I've warmed to him the more I read about he methods and personality. I'd be disappointed if it fell through or we chose to go for the likes of Lambert instead.

To save anyone else looking at Wiki ...

Magnus Wolff Eikrem - 21, Norwegian international. Moved from Molde to ManU as a youngster and then back again last year. Attacking midfielder and a bit spotty.

Mark Dempsey 48 - coach. Played one game for ManU before doing the rounds of the lower leagues, was coach with youth setup at ManU before moving to Molde.

Richard Hartis - 44, Goalkeeping coach. Never a professional footballer, most recently goalkeeping coach in ManU's youth setup before moving to Molde.

Re the Press.

Here's a classic from The Birmingham Post:

Confusion reigned this afternoon when parts of Solskjaer’s press conference with the Norwegian media was seemingly lost in translation as it reached England.

Some outlets, including the Birmingham Mail website, carried a Press Association report erroneously suggesting the 39-year-old had rejected Villa’s advances.

However, after several checks with trusted Norwegian sources present throughout the press conference, it became clear Solskjaer had done no such thing.

Well, reflecting on a goddamn crazy day, it's hard to reach any other conclusion than that Ole wants to be our manager, and that we really think he'd be good for the job. Instead of instinctively going against the fans' wishes, as they did last season, I hope they listen to us on this, because I believe most Villa fans who support OGS' candidacy are as on to something as Lerner for approaching him.

Go for it, make it happen, perhaps pull off the managerial appointment coup of the decade.

It shows a bit of clever, left-field thinking, which is precisely what they need to do after the dogs fucking dinner of last summer.

Indeed. It also shows they're trying to appoint a manager based on a ruthless approach to logical criteria, not on the basis of some half-garbled nonsense about 'Premier League experience' or what have you.

A Norwegian business contact of mine, who is a Villa fan, and a sportsbook manager, so knows a fair bit about Scando football said this to me "If Solskjær signs I am 110% sure he will bring along Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Davy Claude Angan as well."

I've no idea who those two are.

Eikrem is highly rated by the Norwegian media; Angan I've never heard of, but I'd still rather have him than Grant "one-season-wonder-at-31" Holt.

What kind of manager will OSG be like and how is his footballing style amd approach. I think Darren Bent would love it.  Maybe he will score more goals than Ronaldo, Messi next season for Villa :)

A bit too clever and far too left field for my liking. I see no logic here than Fergie Consultancy service in operation. If club is happy to appoint a League 1 standard manager than  fine however I am sure we can do better from home or abroad.

Repeatedly saying that he is a 'League One standard manager' doesn't make it true.

"Aston Villa is such a fantastic great club......."

I like the cut of his jib.

Seeing that Interview, he comes over as a very articulate and intelligent man.

Couldn't agree more. Impressed me greatly. Also seemed very honest - he didn't fudge any answers to to the questions.
All the attributes mentioned above applied to McLeish as well.
