Here's the crux of the issue: the British media - namely Sky - have reported that he's turned down the job; the Norwegian media are reporting he might take it if offered. I think I know who I trust out of the two, in terms of proximity to the situation, understanding of the language and tendency towards sensationalism.

monty , I would have been happy with Lambert this time last week , but the OGS thing as really make it interesting.   I would kind of be a little disppointed now If it was Lambert and not Ole but with Lambert as manager , it will never be as bad as its been recently .  yes , a little steady but still pretty young and ambitious.

He can be as ambitious as he likes, he needs to be able to change and adapt his approach if he's going to get where he wants. Like I say, a world away from McLeish and probably (at least will be) better than MON, but not as good as he could be.

I look at Lamberts team and think who?  but when I watched them against Arsenal I was suprised how attacking the  team was and Arsenal had no answers to it  and they played some great football .      Maybe with the better players and a a little money , he might do the job .          I wouldnt too upset to get him , even thou having OSG would have been so exciting .

When players/managers say they will see out the remaining 1/2 years of a deal this really means I want to move on.

Just as an aside, the BBC were reporting Solskjaers sex life as a Man U player yesterday.

Based on results at the Emirates at the end of the season give the job to Gary McAllister.

I do not believe this is over yet. If Villa make the offer direct to Ole think he will say yes. That sponsor is pulling out regardless and Ole knows that his team will slump without funding ......

'I have not been offered a job at Aston Villa. We have simply met to get to know each other. They will also speak to other candidates and I do not know whats going to happen from here. So as of today I have two years left on my contract and I intend to stay'

If Sky and BBC are based on that, then they have definitely jumped the gun.

Considering what it cost to hire Mcliesh and then sack him and his assistant, that wouldn't have been a bad shout last season.
