I'm not at all convinced by this latest news.

The thing about Sky is that they are desperate to 'break' stories. Which makes the more likely to take a definite line, even when the evidence isn't that clear-cut. Their view is that they can always change tack later, which is a kind of bonus: they get to call a story twice, the second time as a shock u-turn. So unless Ole's agent is briefing privately that it's all over, it's probably not.

Oh, and the BBC just copy Sky. It's always the B-team on the desk on Saturday mornings.

Looking across the various channels it seems to be based on the press conference. There's no reference of 'sources close to Solskjaer'. It seems that Sky broke it and BBC followed suit.

They did it when Muamba collapsed, they don't give a shit really. They're not a recognised news channel, just the promotional arm of Sky Sports.

Yesterday SSN reported it as breaking news that the Community Shield would be staged at Villa Park. I was surprised because I thought this had been common knowledge for months. But yeah, it does come across as to how desperately they want to get that yellow strap running across the bottom of the screen - especially in the summer.

I see Kendrick has tweeted saying he hasn't turned us down, but would consider an offer it was made.

Paul Lambert 2/1
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 5/2
Roberto Martinez 6/1

I think they will talk to PL Monday and make their decision on Monday evening.    If PL says the right things , he has a very good chance .

It's why Adam Boulton went into meltdown at the general election. Sky don't like uncertainty, and they are unable to report gradual processes.

If those 'right things' are 'I'm going to stop being a manager in the top 4 in the league for long balls', he'll be welcome.

I wonder how patient OGS is ?
If we are interviewing others, or don't give him a feeling that we aregoing to be offering him the job, will he decide to stay put ?

I have no problem with Lambert at all and I don't give a toss what Sky or BBC say as they are way behind the news lately. I still expect OGS to be our manager.
