He might just be saying that to fend off the journos and try and keep things calm around him.

He might be happy but if he was really that happy at Molde I'm not too sure he'd fly to England to talk to Randy about the obvious manager role that needs to be filled. He's obviously interested in the potential job otherwise he wouldn't of come over.

How many managers do you know get flown in via private jet with another owner of a football club and then claim it was just a casual chat and nothing serious was talked about?

OGS also said something to the effect of Villa shouldn't be in 16th place, and it would be a great career move.

Well he has been asked outright if he would take the Villa job if offered and apparently was very coy on his answer.

Molde have a match coming up and the last thing that OGS would want to do would be to upset the preparations for the game.  The press conference calms speculation a little and puts off the the media questions until after the match.  In other words it just buys time.

If anything is going to happen, it will be after the match tomorrow.

He's given an interview to a journalist where he still remains coy. I think he's coming.

I think Rokke is just playing the game known as Billionaire's Conkers. It's where extremely rich and powerful men compete by flaunting their wealth and power.

Randy went to the Private-Jet-parked-on-your-runway straight away. Rokke has countered by threatening to destroy his own football club on a whim.

Randy is better at this game

What's next, a recall for the General and the marines.

I reckon it will be Lambert .  Not as exciting as OSG but still a very good manager , who I would be happy with . I think Bent and Holt could be pretty lethal up front.

Andreas Meier Eide is a bit of a star on Twitter, and if he reads these boards thanks for your translations.

Ole when asked directly if he would take the job laughed and said we will have to wait and see, I am not looking for another job.

That is most definitely not ruling yourself out. He is in a really hard place, because he wants the Villa job clearly, but does not want to burn his Moldy bridges, so has to strike a balance.

An off the record Norwegian reporter is remaining non-committal.

Holt has has a good season and has caught the PL defenders by surprise, something that happens from time to time but he is 31.  Can he reproduce that form for the next 3 years, I do not think so.

I can only infer that everyone is guessing. It's a bigger story over there than over here.

"I must apologise for the hassle around this... It should not have come in the evening of 17th of May [Norway's national holiday].

I have aspirations of becoming a Premier League coach, but I am very happy here, and do not feel any lack of confidence in Molde.

We are ready to take on new challenges together here."

Chalk him off, Randy.

Disagree, he's there for the taking.

Disagreeing too. OGS will be our manager.

The main men in Molde experience a media storm they really couldn't anticipate. The result is that the club attempts to distance itself from OGS by very directly blaming him for the whole kefluffle. My question is, though: Would the club be doing it this way if they weren't pretty sure OGS was leaving? They could have worded it like "bad communication", "misunderstandings" or something like that, but they want to come out of this as blame free and strong as possible in anticipation of a future where local support and goodwill is going to be even more important.

At the press conference OGS came across as stern repeating his stance that he hadn't done anything wrong. I support him in this. Formally OGS has done nothing wrong. This has become a big thing simply because he is a damn important person in Molde, Molde's own MON if you like, controlling all footballing aspects as well as being a star in his own right. That said, OGS also did a good job putting out fires, playing down issues about fronts and conflicts. A true diplomat as far as the reality of the situation allowed him.

The important thing, though: Nothing in the PC managed to change my impression, that he will go for it if Aston Villa want him.

Exciting times.

(you are right, English isn't really my first language!)

Good afternoon, Gompedyret. Nice of you to share your thoughts with us, and your English is better than most of ours is.
