Sounds like their owner has spat his dummy out. It's all kicking off over there now.

yeah. "If you leave Ole, I'll pull the plug on funding the club".  Emotional blackmail or what?

My ferry is full of eels

That could also be "my kayak is infested with lampreys"?

but if its all kicking off over there because he'd told them he wants to leave wouldn't they put him on gardening leave or the Norwegian version (reindeer herding mebbe) Pelty's comments the other day seems to suggest we shouldn't get too set on one candidate and again that latest club statement seems to be hint similarly that the choice is not set in stone on OGS

Not sure how it works, but maybe their intent is to convince him to stay, which wouldn't happen if they put him on leave?

If he wants to come, but is trying to do right by Molde up until 28/5, then I wouldn't expect anything different from the club statement.

Røkke will cut all funding to the club reports newspaper Dagbladet.

The Aker Group, owned by Røkke, will not provide transfer funds for new players and will end its ownership of Molde FK at the end of the season. He said "Solskjaer went to talk to Aston Villa without my permission"

Eva Britt Mauseth, head of Molde's supporter association reckons there is a failure on all sides:
"Molde FK gave Solskjaer too much freedom, which means Solskjaer believes he can do whatever he wants. There is error on the part of the manager in that he failed to talk enough. There is poor communication, pure and simple."

"An informal chat [between manager and owner] did take place, so this issue could have been resolved the issue".

Remind you of anyone?

MOLDE (Rbnett): Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shelves Kjell Inge Røkke contribution to MFK, but do not regret that he traveled to England.

Solskjaer was Friday night back in Norway after the visit to Birmingham, where he had a conversation with the management of Aston Villa. After a long day of dramatic news he speaks out.

Read all the cases of the last days of Solskjaer drama here.
- The first thing I would say is that it Røkke has done for Molde Football Club is wonderful. It is he who built the club to what it is today, says Solskjaer to Romsdals Budstikke.

Called to Røkke
He had absorbed the news that Aker will not cover 20-25 million in planned deficit for the season.

- That Røkke and Aker has taken a decision to go out of Molde Football, giving the club a new challenge that the organization is definitely ready to take. The club is well run and has a very good starting point. We will show that we can continue to drive sensibly and achieve good results and success.

- What do you think of that Aker attract the financial support because of that you went to England to Røkke will?

- In case of sin. I spoke with Kjell Inge on Monday, he was the first one I called when this appeared. Villa had made a request and would talk to me. I thought it was important that Kjell Inge heard it, said Solskjaer.

On Saturday training
He informed Molde director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen Wednesday and said he had accepted to talk to Aston Villa.

- I said a flat no to many requests that have come to my contacts, both clubs who play in the Premier League next season and will play in the Champions League. But Aston Villa are a big club that I think it was right to talk to them.

- If you take the criticism some of the things that has happened, something that could have been resolved differently?

- No, not initially. It was agreed with MFK that I could talk to them and they set up a plane for me to get the most time to prepare for Sunday's game. I could have been scheduled and more discreet, but it would take too long in relation to Sandnes Ulf, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

- So you're MFK manager and plans to be the future?

- I have spoken to Aston Villa. I'm not offered anything and have not negotiated anything. I am a richer experience, and I will exercise in Molde on Saturday. I have two years left on my contract, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

I love google translate  ;D

Actually, for once Google Translate did a good job. That quote seems just as ridiculous in Norwegian. :)

Solskjær interview by NRK:

- I can confirm that I have spoken to Aston Villa. There were no negotiations, but first an informal chat. They also have other candidates they want to talk to...

(Mysteryman correlates this bit of info..)

and

Ole Gunnar Solskjær and his family still have their house in Manchester.

From their home, it will take about a half hour drive to Aston Villa's training ground in Birmingham. It is about as long as Solskjær has [got used to, going] from Kristiansund to Molde.

Am I missing something here? On the official Molde FC website it said the club had given OGS permission to speak to us. OGS spoke to us and now all hell is breaking loose with funding withdrawn? Is this a Molde fuck up (ie didn't ask sugar daddy for his permission?).

Half an hour from Manchester? I'd love to know what kind of mileage he is getting
