Does this remind anyone else of January 2011?

Liverpool, Chelsea and Villa all spent big on strikers.  The media spunked themselves over the other two's dealings and virtually ignored Villa, who did their business with a minimum of fuss.

And who got the best result then??

I swear non-Villa fans know fuck all about our club. Maybe it's just because they don't pay attention, because we're not interesting enough.

I agree Damon, since Liverpool sacked KKK you would think they are the only team without a Manager. Nothing about Villa all about who the Redscouse might employ.

I was undecided and voted Usikker.
But now I've researched and looked into his background I want to change my vote to yes.

Here he is with missus. I dunno...Scandinavians eh?

Sky Sources: Liverpool plan to speak to as many as 12 candidates to replace Kenny Dalglish. #SSN

12 candidates. Are they after a jury? Might make the fans feel more at home.

Just seen on the SSN website that apparently we're in for Gollum.

He can fuck right off. Why would he want to manage "a half-arsed club that used to be famous"?

Far too precious for my liking

I wouldn't say now is the time to take such a risk.Winning Scottish football titles was derided last year when AM came-OGS has so far won 1 title in Norway.

I'd be right behind him, but after the last 2 years I'd prefer Lambert

And Lambert has won???

wow sky sports ticker say rodgers has rejected the chance to speak to liverpool

You ever been for a job interview and realised afterwards they were never interested in hiring you? That's a shit feeling. I wouldn't willingly go through it.

Yes, and so has my missus.  In both cases we found out afterwards that the jobs were already gone and that they were just going through the motions.  One of the bastards in my interview kept repeating the same impossible to answer question over and over again, it was at this point I realised the job was already gone.  It went to a brother-in-law of one of the interviewing panel!  And they said nepotism didn't exist, my arse.

In the case of Mrs S they shitbags had her fly over from Brum to attend an interview (we were thinking of moving to Ireland at that time) and they had the audacity to actually tell her at the interview that the job was gone but they would place her on a panel as a possible; (I can only describe it as a substitue) replacement.  As you say Damon, a shit feeling.

For a club that likes to think of itself as having class, Liverpool certainly lack it.
Keep your business private and get on with it.

Of course, once you get involved with a FUCKING GOBSHITE OLD MONKEY SCROTE like Dave Whelan it becomes hard but still, fans of other clubs dont want to know you're screening their managers for a possible position, making life difficult for them if they dont get it. You're not that important anymore, get over it.

Why not?

I know nothing about his managerial career or acheivenemts, but it's worth a gamble, and it can't go ay more wrong than McLeish did.

Relegation?

Apparently Solskjaer has flown over today with his wife to talk about the job.  It will happen if the family are happy.  The more and more i think about him being the boss the more and more im getting excited.  I just hope that the amount of enthusiasm we are showing now continues even if he hits a rough patch.

Two work colleagues - both grown men, both keen football supporters, both expressed astonishment at the notion that Villa came second in the league and reached a cup final `in the modern era'.

Having said that, we were just mentioned in passing on BBC Sports news. Albion aren't even being mentioned anywhere
