I find the phrase especially ironic because I have an assassin-faced baby

I can honestly say I have no idea if this is a good choice or not.

Even lambert's a bit of a gamble, after just one season in the prem.

I didn't realise he's 39.

I just had the image of a lad with choirboy looks telling Collins and Dunne to pull their fingers out. Only for them to give him a wedgey and tell him feck off. They have gotta respect him after what he's achieved in the game ( I hope).

The only manager who had a problem with Dunne was Houllier.Erikkson,Royle,Keegan,McCarthy and big Feck all spoke highly of him. Houllier is an odious turd I reckon even Cliff Richard would want to give him a dry one.

Yes from me

Young, exciting, ambitious, different choice - can't see him saying we have to lower our expectations

Don't care about his love for Man U - all managers have ties to clubs - the point is he is ambitious and wants to do well.If you have an ambition to do a high profile job in your career then you are going to want to prove yourself and do a brilliant job wherever you are

I'll take several years of someone ambitious wanting to win at Villa.............

A massive yes from me. Solskjaer is a born and bred winner, his backroom staff have extensive experience and this is a bold and brave decision from Randy and Faulkner.

Give me this option over an old unsuccessful warhorse a la Bruce / Curbishley et al any day!

I can't help feeling OGS would be a gamble, but only from the sense that he's untested as a manager in this country. A certain Dr Josef Venglos was meant to be an uber-manager twenty-or-so years ago and we know how that turned out.

That said, the players will be aware of what OGS has achieved with Manyoo (scoring a Champions League final winner in 1999, for instance) and so that will surely earn him some respect from the players. I still don't know to this day what Venglos did as a player, and I think that will be the difference.

So a yes from me then.

Unless you are at the top the pile, you're always a stepping stone.

Not my first choice but I wouldn't be against the appointment. Would inject a bit of excitement at least.

Nice to see the board thinking outside the box this time instead of the usual tired choices though.
