Another possibly negative, but honest opinion here.  Why is everyone getting so excited about an unproven manager coming in?

Because he's not a proven failure, like McLeish.

Exactly.

After a year of that nonsense, the minimum criteria are bound to get slacker.

Just in case all common sense goes out of the window and we do go ahead, a few phrases that might help.

Yes = Ja

No = Nei

Thank you = Takk

Please = Vær så snill

Excuse me = Unnskyld meg

Excuse me how does Heskey get anywhere near the first team even when we are too shit to stay in the Prem = Unnskyld meg bibble babble bubble bumble Heskey crappus tossus overpaidus fat wakner

Hello = Hallo

Goodbye = Ha det

I do not understand how bone idle c$nts like Agbonlahor gets away with paying lip service to our 5th manager in 10 minutes or however long it is= Jeg forstår ikke, wakkaday houdi elbow, nic nac paddy Agbonlahor, bumface diddle.

Are Heskey & Amoebi the same person = Voordurk technic shittus wankus Heskey Amoebi barn dooreth miss shite twat.

Hope it gives you some value.

Ha det.

Has Randys private jet pilot got his Norfolks and Norways mixed up in search for a new gaffer?

Actually for me, very exciting. Mainly because of his youth and passion, and I have a good feeling and hope I am not wrong. As someone pointed out, serving under Fergie for so many years can't do him any harm (although a counter argument could be, would we be happy with Bruce or Hughes coming here who were under the same heirarchy; probably not).

Its a more enjoyable thought than a few of the names been banded about, thats for sure! Hope we get him.

Oh Bollox, here we go again. This is how this works:

We get a manager, he proves to be shite, we clamour to get rid, he goes, we then wax lyrical about all the exciting possibilities, one by one they f*ck us off and we're left with the shite.

I can see him kissing the red devil badge now as we go down to our customary demolition at Old Trafford.

It's all sooooooo predictable. Mug me off if you want but I know I'm right.

Yet another manager of our great club deeply in love with another. Woopee do.

We haven't been "fucked off" by anyone so you're wrong.

Thanks for that.  Means I guessed right on the poll.

There was an interesting point about him spending so much of his time watching and listening to the manager and the coaches during the games as he was a sub so often and knowing the space from analysing the game from the bench allowing him to be so good at coming on to score. Maybe he is a bright cookie that can really take us forward. Our very own Rodgers, but with more money, bigger support etc.

Yes, 110% yes.
Why not? Even McLeish couldn't relegate us so we'll be okay whatever happens, and we just might be employing one of the up and coming stars of football management. Okay so when he gets us into the top four he'll be straight off up the M6 but fuck it, it'll be a ride.

It'll be really interesting as to his backroom staff.  Whether he brings his current clan with him or appoints British based coaches etc.  Wouldn't mind the likes of Wilkins or Clarke being involved.  OGS has managed some quality players as United reserve Manager so he can't be a mug I suppose. I am a bit shocked by how quickly this has happened, although I know he hasn't put pen to paper as yet.

theres no doubt that OGS has quietly been building a very good reputation for himself in football circles over the last couple of years, i know its early in his career but i've got a feeling we could be getting a quality young progressive coach before somebody else gives him the platform which he is surely going to get sooner rather than later.

Because he's not a proven failure, like McLeish.

Exactly.

After a year of that nonsense, the minimum criteria are bound to get slacker.

For me the key is that he got a job with a big chequebook turned up, saw what he needed to do to fill gaps in the squad and get a team to win the league and did it.  In 1 season.  That takes pretty much no mistakes, even in a poor league that's a very impressive start to his career.

Add to that the impression that they steadily improved through the season and then listen to him talk about how he wants to play the game and his ambition and he just comes across really well.  Not as a nice guy who's saying the right things (but just isn't convincing) but rather like a winner who is telling you exactly how he's going to achieve his goals.

He also comes across as the kind of guy who will beat himself up over every mistake and really learn from it, Mistakes are fine so long as you learn from them, our recent history is for managers who haven't done that and that alone makes me excited by this prospect.
