HS2 Route - Straight Through Our Training Ground
« on: May 15, 2012, 03:17:49 PM »
I was just looking at the proposed route of High Speed 2 Rail in the Bodymoor Heath area, as my parents-in-law live there, and was dismayed to see that, whilst previously skirting the edge of our training ground, the latest version of the route shows it flying straight across it, very close to where the entrance gates currently stand.

The road that the entrance stands on, Bodymoor Heath Road, is also shown being diverted off its current alignment and up and over HS2.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or has been acknowledged by the club. Presumably, if it goes ahead as shown, we will get compensation and will be able to extend elsewhere to cover the loss of land.

Here's the link. It's Map 27:

I'd be more than a little disappointed if we don't get at least three pages of pretty weak train puns.

Right, who's first?

So that's why it is called a training ground.

I suppose Dunne could take some tips from one on the trains going past to improve his turning circle?

It is a shame McLeish won't be around, he would have loved it watching as the trains draw closer.

They could have a station on the line for potential signings to come in on....

Seriously, if we own that land, I am pretty sure we will have to be refunded any costs of relocation.

I've heard he's handed in a transfer request as he wants to be the new 'Fat Controller'.
