Today's Independent described McLeish's brand of football as 'attritional'. Not far wrong

A war of attrition against those who enjoy watching football. An absolute joy to play against though!

Attritional implies eventual success, I'd say hopelessly dull sums it up better.

"The game you are about to see is the most stupid, appalling, disgusting and disgraceful exhibition of football possibly in the history of the game."

That was England v Chile in 1962 and David Coleman speaking.

It seems to apply to our season under Alex McCleish!

Roll on next week he might be forced out.

A rather fitting final team selection.

From what I've seen of Carruthers, it would have been great to see him playing today, and Gabby as the single bloke up top.

Maybe he wants to be sacked!

He'll get a payoff, use the fans / finance / injury's as a reason why it didn't work out. He'll then go and manage some other unfortunate club.

By this evening it is possible that we stay up on goal difference only. That possibility is enough reason alone for him & his staff to be sent packing ASAP.

Fuck off McLeish, just fuck right off!

The guys a complete and utter nightmare. We're safe. We're playing bloody Norwich! Why on Earth does he play a team almost devoid of any creativity. It's literally all on Irelands head. There's no need for any more than one of Clark, Herd or Warnock in that midfield. With Heskey up front, we've essentially got a defender up front too for all the good he offers offensively.

Frigging joke.

I can't take another season of this shit. It makes my blood boil. We're lumbered with the worst manager in the top flight.

And fewer points than the Bluenoses had last season for their return to their rightful level.

Maybe here will work -http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/122583/1/watch-norwich-city-vs-aston-villa.html

How are you anyway Russ?

I am staying at my parents for the weekend, and last night needed some reading material to ease me into the land of nod. And picked up your book about a season at St Mary's FC. I read the chapter where you describe a training session on Anchor Meadow and Cathcart injures himself, made me chuckle.

It's Breeny (as you call me in the book).
